    Confused by other reviews.

I have had this cable for over a year and have not had any problems with it. I actually enjoy its ability to be reversible when plugging it in, no more fighting in the dark to have it the right way around. What I am confused about is why these reviewers keep buying the cable when it comes with a warranty. Apple will simply replace the cable if it breaks due to normal wear and tear before the warranty is up.

    Bad quality

I bought this Iphone not that long ago and this cable is not working anymore. I take care of it...so as other reviewers mentioned it is due to bad quality.

    New charger every few months

Never seen a product so cheap and unreliable come from apply besides this charger. Buying a new charger every few months is insane. This needs to be fixed now. No charge, no working product.

    Poor Apple product...

I got my iPhone 5 last September and already my cord doesn't work. At first I thought I had just been more rough with it than usual and that's why it had quite working, but after reading all of the other reviews, I realized that it was in fact just the cord. I got my iPod classic six years ago and the iPod quite working (last year) before the 30-pin adapter did (and it's still of use), so I'm really surprised that Apple made such a flimsy product, especially in comparison to the 30-pin adapter, which never gave me any problems. I'm buying the cord again because I have to if I want to be able to use my phone, but I really hope Apple is working on making a more durable cord so we're not having to buy them every 5 months, regardless of how much money it's making them.

Poor products from such a big company

I have had my iphone 5 for just over a year and my lightning USB cable that came with it has stopped working. I am now left without a phone until I get a new one delivered.

As with previous reviews my cable for my very old ipod and my iphone 4 are still in perfect working order after several years. Not only were we forced to buy new adapters due to the new lightning dock but now they last for a ridiculously short period and are forced to pay out for new ones or go without the phone we have shelled out so much for.

Poor by Apple, I will not be buying any apple products until they stop ripping us off. Other consumers are fast catching up.

    MY CABLE ALMOST CAUGHT FIRE!

MY Cable after 2 or 3 months of use just decided to almost catch fire! if i hadn't been watching then could of been bad! Plugged in my cable and left it for a minute or two and when i was on my iPod the cable had a small flash of orange inside it and a small hole appeared and smoke came out and the cable got really warm so i unplugged it and binned it ! there a big risk so watch them!

    Its how you treat them

Had original cables with wifes iphone5 for 16 months and mine for 3 months on my 5s. No problems. This lead is for my car so i can play my spotify and charge on the go. Just treat them with respect and they will outlast your phone.

    Broke after 30days

I purchased my cable on the 29th January 2014 after my previous cable breaking! My brand new cable has on lasted 30 days and doesn't work anymore?! How can you as a company think it's is right for a customer to purchases an item that cost over £20 with delivery to buy a total of 12 cables a year if they are only going to last 30 days at a time! Terrible quality of product and I will be taking my matter further!

    Bad Quality: Do Not Recommend!

I have bought many of these, as I have just bought a new iPhone and thought it safer to buy a real one than a fake charger off Amazon. However, within a month or so (sometimes less), the cable stops working and the my phone doesn't recognize it. If I'm honest, you're better off getting a charger from o2/a phone shop, as they charge a considerably smaller amount for this than the Apple shop does. I'm really angry at this, as they charge a huge amount for the phone, not to mention the charger and it turns out that it's incredibly bad quality! They need to sort this out, as I've read plenty of reviews on this, and most of them say the same thing. Apple, SORT THIS OUT!

    Shocking Quality

Since purchasing my iPhone 5, the charger cable that came with it quickly deteriorated and fell apart. I since bought another genuine charger cable and the same thing happened.

Guess what I'm using now to charge my iPhone? My old 2nd generation iPod charger cable with the £25, 30 pin to lightning adapter. It seems build materials were much more durable back then as I've had this cable for over 10 years and shows no signs of damage!!!!!!

What does this mean? Apple have gradually cut down on the costs of quality materials and seem to be taking shortcuts. It seems quality now is secondary to profit.

If this is the direction Apply are to proceed in, I think I shall be looking towards Samsung in future. Apple, you should be ashamed!!!

    Disappointed

I'm very upset with apple. In 3 months I had 5 different cables that stopped working unexpectedly.
The cable is extremely fragile and expensive.
    I' m feeling cheated
I'm selling my iphone 5 because of that

    Rubbish!

We are a family of 6 who all have apple products including iPhones and iPads. These cables are completely useless and stop working after a very short while. They are not cheap to replace either!! I have replaced them 3 times in a year for my children..... Soon I'll have spent enough to buy another pad!
    What is going on Apple??
Unfortunately no other cable works so you are all scrupled and like me have to keep on buying new ones. :-(

    STUPID!

I got my iPod touch 5th gen. 32GB as a gift, it's not really a gift if the stupid charger breaks the 3rd month of use! When I charge it, it goes like this (Charging-3sec.-NotCharging-3sec.-Charging-3sec.-NotCharging) It is so irritating! I want a new DURABLE cable when I get a new one with my warranty! Shame on you Apple! You can do better!! My brother has had a 30pin connector for two years and it works perfectly!!

    Terrible Quality

I have had so many cables stop working on me, and at a minimum of $21 each they are not cheap to replace. Come on Apple, we expect higher quality from you!

The 2 meter is not as flimsy

I've been though a few of these .5 m, but the 2 meter cable has a thicker cord and appears to be holding up a lot better. I will be buying the 2 meter if another .5 meter one breaks.

    PIECE OF GARBAGE!!!

POOR QUALITY MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION ON THE CABLE, VERY WELL FINISHED ON THE ENDS.

ALL THE LIGHTNING CABLES ARE SUPER-EXTRA EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT THEY ARE BUT I WOULDN'T MIND TO PAY THE STABLISHED PRICE OF THEM IF THEY WERE BETTER QUALITY MADE. THEY HAVE THE WORST CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS AND THAY DON'T LAST EVENA YEAR DESPITE YOU TAKE SUPER CARE OF THEM.

    VERY DISAPPOINTED...

    The Worst

Between three new iPods, an iPad and an iPhone C, we have gone through at least five of these cables. The latest failure was with a cord less than two months old. No matter how much care is taken in using and storing these cords, the insulation tears and the wires short out. This is by far the poorest quality Apple product I have had in more than 20 years as an Apple customer.

    BAD QUALITY :(

Hello, i live in Malaysia. so the price of a lightning to USB Cable is RM79.00 which is very very very expensive! and to make it even worst the quality is very bad. it breaks easily. i don't have to say a lot because hundreds of people already said the same thing!
