    Worst Cable Ever I got

I should not rate this one even one star.I have tried two these. One is completely damaged and not working at all. No physical damage at all. The other one which i borrowed from my sister just start tearing down near charging pin. Its so frustrating and when I went to store they said its out of warranty and I have to buy a new one which is almost $20. Can you make a better cable that can last little bit longer. I thought Apple Makes better and long lasting Product and not piece of trash. You are loosing my Loyalty.

    Absolutely Ridiculous

I've had my iPod since Christmas 2012 and since then I've bought at least 4 new Lightning-USB cables. Each one has broken after around 2 months of moderate use and it's really getting ridiculous. At first I thought it was just me, but apparently it seems to be a design fault with either the Lightning Connector or the cable itself. If Apple could sort this out as soon as possible, it would be great because it's putting me off from buying other Apple products in the future.

This wouldn't be so much of a problem if Apple products weren't so expensive to constantly replace.

    So disappointed in this cord....

Huge fan of Apple products so I am totally bewildered that this product would be so defective. We have two ipod touches in the family and both cords have stopped working. Never experienced this before. First one just stopped charging for no reason, the second shorted, shredded the cord and shocked my daughter. It's a disgrace if Apple doesn't redesign this product and allow for free exchanges.

The only Apple cable that I've had a problem with

My family has a countless number of Apple devices, and I've had the iPhone 5 for over a year now. The new cable was working perfectly fine throughout the year, however around November 2013 I noticed that the top of the cable was starting to tear. I tried to do my best and tape it together, however the plastic material that encases the inner wires continued to disintegrate. Hope Apple steps up the quality and length of their cables! My family has spent thousands of dollars on Apple products and we would appreciate basic things like charging cables not to break down on us!

    Poor Quality

I'm an avid Apple fan and I've gone through 3 exchanges of the lightning cord now. I've never seen an official cord wear out so fast under normal usage. I handle it the proper way, pulling out at the base, not the cord part, but it still fails eventually. Not sure what the issue is here, I wish Apple would make a better cord that wouldn't wear out after a month or two.

    It's dun diddly

So, if you couldn't tell from the truckload of reviews, this cable's awful. I had two a few months ago but now I'm down to one that barely works. Not sure what's up with people giving it 5 stars, but they're probably shady people you shouldn't trust. I'm finna start buying some 3rd party cables because Apple dun goofd this one up. I hate these cables so much that I was actually competed to write a review - you know the struggle is real then

Cable lighting wire extremely poor quality

I have less than a year having the Iphone 5, despite all the care this cable is damaged, I note in the comments that I am not alone, this cable is expensive but very poor quality. The above cables were better

    Good stuff

I have used this cable daily for over a year and have not had any problems. I like the reversible pin because it is easy to plug in. My son has the same cable and has no complaints either.
So I don''t understand all these other problems

    Worst Charger Ever!

I have had to replace this charger because it did not work for some reason and I am thinking of switching to samsung if this continues. Brakes after normal use. Worst product I have ever used!

    Garbage

I have had three of these break on me in just over a year. They are blatantly designed to fail. For $20 it should last me at least a year. I've had to apply shrink tubing to make these last ... (I don't buy Apple brand cables anymore)

No issues with it after a year...

I've been using the same Lightning cable that came with my iPad 4 for the past year now, and haven't had any issues at all with it - so really surprised by these reviews, but I don't discredit them. I do tend to be really gentle with all my electronics, especially my Apple ones.. so this may be why.

To me it seems like a typical solid construction, the kind we've come to expect from Apple. It's clear that there're some pretty serious issue with it's design though, from everyone having so many problems. Cables ought to be virtually indestructible from normal use. This is ridiculous, really.

    A let down

I've had my iPhone for 5 months and my charger isn't working anymore because its not durable enough to handle regular use. this is very disappointing compared to previous apple products and this was thought to be "the next big thing." I love my iPhone but I'd like to be able to charge it to use it.

    This cable is a joke!

I received my new iPhone 5c yesterday. The round protective rubber root came right off when I was trying to unplug it after the first charge. Then the bare 4 wires and welding leads are fully exposed on a small tiny board. I was like "really!? This is designed and sold by Apple!?" I though I was being gentle and careful when unplugging. I am highly disappointed in this cable design and quality. Now I am trying to exchange it for a new one, but I can easily image I will have the same trouble many times down the road just like many other users posted in the review. This cable is truly a JOKE! SHAME ON APPLE! I wish I could choose 1/4 of a star here.

    Appalling.

Appalling. After using it for 1 month, I keep on getting the message on my computer, "USB Devices Disabled, Unplug the device using too much power to re-enable USB devices."

Apple can do better than this

I have to keep replacing these - even when treated gently, the cord breaks down quickly. And it's no fun to be caught traveling when it decides to randomly stop working on you.

    Annoyed

I've had my phone less than a year & I'm already on charger number 3. I'm very disappointed. They should really do something about this since so many people have to keep replacing them. They really need to hurry up and make a better one.

Phone is 2 weeks old and cable doesn't work

This is so bad. I look after my cables, it stopped working, they wanted me to visit apple store, I said no, then they want me to send it back, why can't you send me a new cable i still have apple care

    Awful product

I have been through 3 different cables in the year that I have owned my iphone 5. Sorry to say, that this will probably be my last iphone as I have no intention of going through this cable hassle ever again. It's a shame that you let something as trivial as a charging cable steer people away from buying your more expensive products.

Not sure why all the bad reviews

I'm still using the cord that came with my iPhone 5 over a year ago. Hasn't broken or stopped working, so I'm not sure why all the negative comments. Works fine, seems durable. I give it a thumbs up.
