Not quite sure why there are all the negative reviews...

I've had the same cable for my iPhone for almost a year now and haven't had a single issue with it. The reversible dock connecter in neat and means no fumbling about at night trying to get the orientation right.

    Very pleased with mine.

    recall

this cable is ok but it breaks down witjhin 2 months and it really isnt what apple should be making they should recall the product and make a better cable because my cable started to breakdown at the end and the cable started to split open so the wires are exposed and that is very dangerous if a little kid got it or water got into it

    wears out fast

This cable is a real work of art.. the plastic cracked and eventually exposed the wires.. it's very odd because all I do with it is plug it into the computer. Sure, I do transport it in my bag, but have always treated it gently.
Like other reviewers say, I never had this issue with all the changers I had for the other iphones.

    DUST is the Answer !!

I've noticed a lot of people are saying that this cable doesn't work and that they've had it replaced many times. I used to be that person.....but I have the ANSWER...

There is NOTHING wrong with the cable - there simply is too much dust inside the port of your iOS device e.g. iPhone 5. Just use something as simple as a toothpick and take out all the accumulated dust. That's why sometimes the cable works if you "insert or push it at an angle" because of all the dust!!

So REMOVE THE DUST from the port and hey presto !!

    On my fifth charger,

On my fifth cable, really unimpressed
Apple will replace the faulty cables (with other ones that will also break after a few weeks) but you have to book an appointment and travel to an apple store to do so. With my nearest apple store being over 30 miles away and appointements are sparce I decided just to buy one online
Apple has now taken 45 pound of my money on faulty chargers, the other two I bought off ebay, which have also broken.
    Sort it out apple

    Works as it should!

I was surprised by all the bad reviews so I needed to write my own. I've had my iPhone for close to a year now and still using the lightning usb cord that came with it, with no problems. I really don't know what all these other reviewers are doing with their cables, maybe they are they types who unplug a cord by yanking on the cord instead of pulling at the head.

    iPhone 5 Cable.

I have had my iPhone 5 since the start of June and within 3 months I am now on my third cable! I am VERY unhappy with this product and the prices are ridiculous to say how long they last! I love my phone however these cables let the phone down a lot!! This is the first and last time I buy such an expensive phone with expensive accessories for them to let me down time and time again!!! I expected a lot better from such a big brand as Apple.

    Very irritating

I am now on my third iPod 5 charger after having bought my iPod in January, and am now experiencing the same problems as I had with the first two. The wire breaks far too easily! I love my iPod, but its getting pretty irritating now paying £15 a time for a new USB cable and I have no doubt I'll have to get another in a few months! Should have stuck to original charger design - far more durable and less prone to breakage. Not happy.

    Poor quality; poorly constructed

Plastic sheathing on two cables split open about two inches below the phone connector in, exposing the cable inside. One lasted about 10 months, and the other about five before they broke. These cables present a potential hazard, and should be re-engineered.

    Terrible Product

These cords break incredibly fast. My charger still works for my Ipod video that I bought over 6 years ago. This product is horrible and needs to be fixed ASAP. I noticed that the rubber on this cord is cheaper and more flimsy than the old 30 pin cords. Please fix this failure Apple before you lose me to Samsung.

    Eeek!

Rubbish in comparison to original iPod 30 Pin USB cable. Wouldn't connect to PC every time from purchase and stopped charging properly after a few months

    Apple!?

The cable broke within a month of me using it. People are now using household products to reinforce their cables so they won't break right away. I'd search for other brands

    Disappointed

Only had this USB cable a couple of months and it has already broken. I will have my original USB cable for my iPod and never had any problems. Was going to buy a mac book on Friday but not so sure now as it seems as though apple products and getting worse instead of better so disappointed!!!!

    Try a different brand

It breaks very easily because it's very flimsy and not well made. I've already had three in six months and am very unhappy.

    Disappointing

Normally Apple products are easy to use, well designed and relatively durable. This change is a pain because not only did my cord break from regular use with out abuse, it had trouble fitting in my iPod and I frequently received messages saying charging was not supported with this accessory. This is very frustrating that I am unable to charge my device without spending more money than I started with to replace a breaking cable.

Oh well. More cash reserve for Apple.

My cable stopped working after using it for 7 months. Spent extra $25 for new cable. I guess I have to spend another $25 half year later? No wonder, Apple has so much cash reserve.

    Frustrated

I've had far to many problems with this charger. Mine broke within 2 months of use. I brought a quick 5 dollar one at the a nearby store but that one broke even faster it only lasted a week. The fact that it is 19.99 for another cable to me is completely rediculious concidering the quality i not at all worth 19.99.

    Should be 0 star!

Already had to buy 4 of these rubbish cables for my iphone 5 in so many months....really disappointed...I can't recall ever having issues with The older style cables that came with my 4s, ipods, & ipad. In fact some i have are well over 5years old and they still work.....This is obviously a design fault here which Apple should address.....

Be ready to buy a lot.

For a phone that can be worth up to 850$, its charging accessories should be at the same standard. The cord breaks very easily, so you're left with a dead phone, and you have to buy a new charger. For people on the go, this can be a HUGE inconvenience. But then again, it was probably made this way to get more money out of everyone. You might as well buy a couple to be ready for the breaks to come.
