Best Battery Case out there! Buy it if you have Battery OCD like me!

Having a bit of OCD when it comes to making sure my iPhone 6 is fully charged at all times because you never know when you might need it most, i have become obsessed in obtaining little gizmo's etc in ensuring i have a good battery or can charge it as and when i need too.
I seen this advised, read up on it and watched reviews on YouTube before taking the plunge and parting with the cash.

I will tell you now, i am kicking my own backside wishing i did it sooner! It lasts ALL day easily, I take it off charge at 0550 when i get up for work and don't need to plug it back on charge again until i go to bed, its that good people! And take it from me and man who is obsessed with making sure i can charge my phone!

My only gripe is the colours, Black and White.... but I'm sure more funky colours will be coming soon?

Buy one ASAP if your like me and like to have a full charge before you leave the house....

Serves purpose, but half baked integration

Firstly, I believe that requiring a case to protect a phone is a ridiculous concept to begin with. A product should be designed to operate stand alone for the purpose it was intended, and built to withstand the conditions that a user would typically expose it to with both functional and aesthetic protection for an anticipated ownership cycle, within reason. The fact that an external battery would be required to keep up to the demands of usage over a short period points to serious design flaws, or at least, underestimations for power demands by associated products (i.e. bluetooth connectivity to the Apple Watch). Putting those blaring elements aside, this is a band-aid to both of those shortcomings, and a necessity for anyone needing to rely on their iPhone with moderate usage over the period of a day. I have always steered towards propriety products to support my beloved hardware, and integration of power management from the lock screen was a star feature in this product. With an iPhone 6 (not sure about the 6s), I have found the power management features seem to stop there. If you leave your phone in the case and power it down to charge overnight, only the phone will charge. You have to leave your phone on when charging in order for the case to benefit, even though it passes through it. Other gripes include the required depth for any headphone jack to reach deep through this case to make a good connection with your phone. Any break design elements in the neck of the 3.5mm jack for headphones will likely be obstructed by the design. Lastly, the speakers on your phone are diverted to project out the front of the case, and sound terrible. I would also imagine that the microphone is affected similarly. The entire sensory portion on the base of the phone (jack, port, mic, and speakers) are concealed and reduced to the equivalent of using a snorkel. If you absolutely need the extra power time, and can deal with the ugly design, additional weight (albeit comfortable), I would not recommend this one. I've always been a huge proponent for Apple products, but this release is not a good indicator of leading product design. If I'd ordered it in a restaurant, I'd be sending it back to the kitchen.

    Great product, needs an adapter

I love this case for when you're caught short without a way to charge via the mains, but most headphones won't fit; should really come with an adapter.

Love it. Makes the phone feel solid and 'grippable'

First battery case I've ever used with an iPhone (I've had 3GS, 4, 4S, and now the 6), and this is a lovely design.
Photos of the case make it look more bulbous than it actually is, I think.
    Love it!

    Best Design out there!

I have used several of the biggest brands including Mophie. Thank you Apple for this case! More ergonomic, has lighting cable support, charges very quickly, displays both the case and iPhone battery levels and works flawlessly with my iPhone. Superb!

    BEST battery case!

I absolutely love this case. The silicon gives it a nice feel and adds grip to an otherwise slippery phone. The added battery life is awesome! While other websites and reviews knock it for not having manual "control" over when it charges and all that, I think that is its best feature! I don't want to have to think about when I need to charge my phone, and then monitor how long until it's full to make sure I turn it back off, what a pain! With this case, you plug the phone in and then forget about it. It intelligently charges the battery and you never have to think about it after that. Tight integration into iOS is also very welcomed. You can see the case battery level by looking at the "batteries" widget in Control Center and it will also show you on the screen when you plug the phone in. It also routes sound out the front of the device instead of out the bottom. This makes speakerphone (or music or whatever) much easier to hear. It also still uses a lightning connector so you can keep the same cables! The only thing that would be nice is if the battery icon in the top right corner showed you the case level when it was running on the case battery. At this point, it always shows 100% until the case battery depletes. So basically it uses the case battery first, then the internal for lack of better description.

    Great battery case

I bought this despite the negativity surrounding the "hump" on the case. It's a great case and does its job very well. I already have a Mophie and in comparison, I like the way the Apple case feels. The Mophie cases are big all around and don't offer much of a grip. Apple has placed the hump in the middle so it actually fits in the hand well and still feels somewhat slim. I have used this multiple times during long days at work and it has yet to disappoint.

    Defective Unit

I order this case in Charcoal Grey for my iPhone 6S. The first time I took it out of the box and put my iPhone in it, it worked perfectly. Charging my phone until it was depleted. The problems began once I wanted to charge the case. The charging indicator would briefly illuminate, then turn off and the case would not charge whatsoever. With or with my 6S in the case. Very disappointing because I was very excited to start using this case.

Apple produces some of the most amazing cases!

I previously had the Apple iphone 6s leather case for my iPhone 6s and i loved it, it felt great in hand and looked stylish. I just recently purchased this Apple battery case and i must say, so far this case is pretty great! This case also feels great in hand and provides good protection for your phone! The best part about this case is of course, the extra battery. Being a heavy iPhone user my phone would need to be charged around 3-4pm everyday when i would get home from work but now my battery lasts all day and longer! The hump on the back of the case where the extra battery is stored is kind of annoyong at first, but you get used to it very quickly. This case actually feels very well in hand and it also provides a feeling of great durability for your phone which is always great to have in a phone case. I would definitely recommend this to all iPhone 6s users!!

Great piece of kit, and one which was desperately needed for iPhone. Despite the claims Apple makes as to battery life, the reality is that I use my iPhone 6 constantly, for business and personal reasons, and Bluetooth it to the iWatch and my car etc etc. All of this drains power. Whilst it is not too bad, as in, I can get through a normal business day, if my son then wants to pinch my phone to watch a video, the on-board battery has just about had it! I would never consider putting a third party battery case on to my phone, so to see Apple finally realise that usage of the iPhone in a normal day is too much for the battery, and develop this case, is really good news. Maybe in the future they'll just put a bigger battery into the phone!

As others have said, this is incredibly simple to use, well made, and typically beautifully presented. I love the fact that the case can be charged independently, and has charging lights on it for that purpose. Also love the battery metering in notifications on iPhone. Looking at some of the third party options, which were actually significantly more expensive, makes me think this is very good value for money too. Highly recommended.

    Best case ever

This case is unlike all other charging cases, it has a slim body and it looks good. Most importantly it does its job very well, it gives a lot of extra battery life and protects your phone.

    Worth every penny, highly recommend.

Highly recommend. I have tried all the other charging cases available. It was frustrating to me that after switching from android to apple and buying lightning cords to plug in all over the place, I still had to charge with a micro usb. This case solves that. Don't be fooled by the pictures, I almost didn't buy this case thinking it was just so ugly. Seeing it in person, it is actually very nice looking and feels good in your hand. Highly effective, I went from charging multiple times a day, and now I rarely ever run the case out of battery. I worry that since my iPhone is technically always charging that there will be some long term effects on phone, but otherwise this is a must have for heavy users. Hope to see Apple expand this line of battery cases to other devices soon.

    Love it

I don't write reviews very often, but I felt the need to share the love for my new Battery Case.

The fact that you start the day on "200% charge" is really useful - especially when you're out and about and you run the risk of running short at the end of the day e.g. if you've been using maps or playing games all day.

My wife also has an iPhone 6, so she can also use my case if she needs some charge.

It's not that heavy, and I don't think it's that big.

Buy it, and thank me later!

I think it would also make a fantastic gift for someone who owns an iPhone 6 or 6S.

    Thanks, Apple.

    Love it !!!

When I first seen that this was out and selling in the Apple Store for £79 I thought to myself 'what a rip off' when I actually went and bought one I was very impressed, I have to say Apple you have done it again, brilliantly designed, easy to use and the best part it actually protects the phone on every level ! I hope to see more beautiful designs from you guys and keep up the brilliant work.

    But, but..that hump?...

I saw the videos, 'hump gate' as many tech reviewers called it, how could Apple release something sooo ugly? Well, i'm here to tell you, it's actually.....not that bad? No, really! Seeing and feeling the thing in person really puts into perspective how tech reviewers overreact to get those extra clicks. I love the way it feels in hand, has one of the slimmest, if not the slimmest profile for a battery case, and integrates wonderfully with ios 9. Yes, it adds some bulk, but i'll take this ANY DAY over owning a 6s plus for the battery life. I found the 6s plus way too big for my liking, so this battery case was a godsend. My honest opinion is to try it in store if you live close to one, if not, go ahead and purchase it, it's probably your best bet in the batter case category.

    Excellent product

Charges phone and case with one lightening charger. Battery never runs out also makes phone sound better as faces speaker to user.
This case has a hump but better to hold I think also a lot easier in landscape mode. A1 to Apple.

Great case but 1 missing major feature

I have had the mophie and spyder cases. The apple design is much better EXCEPT there is no on/off switch for the charging function. Phone would last longer if there was. Most other cases seem to have this simple but necessary feature.
