    Very nice case, works well

I've had this case for almost a year and it works very well. It feels nice, and protects my iPad. I use it in my car every day for work as a driving instructor, opening and closing it several times an hour and it is holding up nicely. It has a few slight scuff marks where it has been dropped on asphalt and from constant handling, and it has hit the back of the front seat a few times during emergency braking, but the iPad itself has never been damaged. Although it's used so much it's hardly showing any wear at all. Some reviews have mentioned that it's a bit hard to open, which I agree with, but if you move the cover slightly to one side it's easy to catch the edge with your fingers and open it. I've had no problems at all with alignment or fit - the iPad has never looked like falling out of the case (but I never take it out, either, so maybe the people who have problems with it being loose either take the iPad in and out all the time, or got the wrong cover for their iPad). All up, a nice product that's very useful and usable.

    Nice case but it smells

I've only had the iPad Air 2 and this case for a few weeks. The cover fits really well and looks nice. The only negative is that the leather smells strongly and rather unpleasantly. I'm hoping this will wear off without my needing to take any corrective measures.

    Excellent case, beautifully engineered

The case fits extremely snugly and is beautifully engineered so that every port, lens and speaker aperture is precisely aligned. The leather seems pretty tough and resistant to fading or scratches, but the case will acquire its own patina over time. A perfect complement to the iPad.

    Not impressed

This case is less durable than previous models. I wish I could have purchased another polyurethane case for this generation iPad. Just because it is leather doesn't mean it looks sleek. It does mean it is less durable and every tiny watermark leaves a stain. When placed in a stand position it is far less stable than the previous model--this one folds in thirds, whereas the previous model folded into fourths. Plus, it was almost double the price. Definitely not worth the money, I wish I had purchased another design.

Exceptional Addition for your iPad Air 2!

I got the Midnight Blue Smart Case when I got my silver iPad Air 2. The two look perfect together, and I have never had an iPad case which fits better. The leather's texture suggests a quality leather binding for a cherished book. The case is durable and I love how its cover can become a stand. The Air 2 with this case is the best computer I have ever had. Worth the price.

(Cleaning suggestion: use a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the case, and scotch tape to clean the felt-covered interior of the cover.)

    Beautiful midnight blue case!

When I purchased my gold iPad Air 2 in June 2015 I had a Smart Cover from my old iPad Air. With my old iPad Air I used a smart case which doesn't fit with the new one. I personally don't like the Smart Cover. I bought a midnight blue blue case. Over time it did rip near the Lightning connecter. With the iPad with the case on it is hardly noticeable. Great case though. It feels great!

    After all the negative reviews

As with all Apple products that I have bought over the years, it is expensive, but, it works, and looks like it will last.

    A bit too expensive

It gets scratched easily which makes it look kind of shabby. Had mine for 2 weeks and its already got a couple of scratches(I take pretty good care of my belongings). I don't know if its just me but it ALWAYS takes me at least two tries to open this thing, since there isn't anything to get a hold of + the magnet that makes it holding on to itself.

    Very Disappointing

The folding lid doesn't support the IPad very well but the main criticism is that the cut-out for the camera lens is in the wrong place! It obscures half the field of view. Also, the button in the case are not very responsive and need extra effort to use. The case is going back for a refund tomorrow and I'll buy a much cheaper alternative instead.

    Pleasantly Surprised! (I Love It)

I purchased this leather case with my iPad Air 2 and I'm glad I did. Typically in the past, with earlier generation iPads, I've bought Coach or other vendors' leather book-style cases with a cover that functions as a stand, which were nice and safely protected my old iPads, but very clunky. The new Apple iPad Air 2 case is much slimmer and more elegant with a very vice feel, and functions very well as a reasonably solid stand for angled typing or upright in the horizontal position to view videos.

My iPad Air 2 fits perfectly inside the case, and the cover which activates auto-sleep when closed functions perfectly.

I've used my iPad Air 2 case with cover daily for the past six months -- including a two week vacation in Asia -- and it still looks good as new. More important, my six-month old iPad Air 2 inside also still looks good as new.

While it's a tad expensive, it offers a very good value for the money, and I highly recommend it. If my navy blue case with cover ever wears out, I'm planning on buying a red case with cover next.

Not Blue, but the same case...

I would recommend it to anyone wanting to use your iPad for daily use, aside from from my hobby time, with the knowledge that if you have a 'butter fingers' moment your chances of your iPad Air 2 surviving without any damage is very high.

We have the "sister case" to the previous iPad and love it - sturdy. The case for the iPad Air 2 feels like cheap cardboard. I've had it for a week and it's already showing signs of wear. This case is a step down for a step up iPad. Very disappointing.

Best case for the iPad is you want quality

I bought this case for my iPad after buying a third party case from amazon. Although the original case I bought was cheap at only £10 and fitted the iPad well, it only took a couple of months before the plastic sides had cracked and the device became loose. I thought about buying another third party case but I thought it was just not cost effective. I therefore took a punt and bought a genuine apple product.

I can't believe the difference in quality of this case, and of course it should be for the price, but it's in a whole different league. when the case is closed there are no exposed areas of the device and it sits in there solidly and neatly. The leather finish is delightful to hold and gives you a solid grip.

I would have given it 5 stars, but there is one niggle. When the iPad is in the case there is a lip around the edge that sticks up too far in my opinion. Another reviewer on here said it makes the case feel as if it was designed for the Air 1, and I would have to agree. If apple had shaved an extra mm of the lip it would have been the perfect case.

But honestly don't let it put you off.

Beautiful Colour, Excellent Fit, Quality Construction, a Bit Pricey

As I might expect from the same company that designed the device, this case literally fits like a glove. One review mentioned the iPad "sinking" too far into the case and the cutouts not lining up properly: absolutely untrue, for the Air 2 + Air 2 Smart Case anyway. Maybe the Air 2 + Air 1 case; the new device is a bit thinner. The leather feels, well, like leather. Feels durable, looks beautiful, and adds almost no bulk. I'm not sure I would have paid the full $79, but Best Buy was kind enough to give 50% off when they messed up, and am I glad they did! One small issue is that the cover/case fit almost too well-- I need to use my nails to separate and lift the cover sometimes, which is annoying, but it is possible to slide the cover away from the "hinge" enough to avoid this most of the time as well. Overall, still a fan!

I don't like it at all. I had one for the iPad 2, and it was great. I had it for years with no problems. I just got this one last month, and it's already breaking. Also, it doesn't stand up very well. Not impressed.

    iPad Air 2 case

I've had this product for about 1 week and it is the best case on the market. A smooth felling of good quality material and great functionality overall best case I have ever owned, no doubt about it.

    Do Not Buy

i bought one and it fell apart, literally, within a year. Fool that I was, I purchased another thinking maybe had just gotten a dud. This one has done the same thing... The case comes apart!!! I am not rough on things...not a teenager....65+ grandma. Please save your money.

    Hard to open this case

The problem I have with this case is that it's too hard to open it. I have to use my nails. The front should have been made larger, there should be an 'overbite'. If it was larger you only need the top of your finger.
