    Overpriced, but works well

It is definitely better than I expected, but seriously--$59 is too much so four stars, not five. It fits well and with the equally overpriced Smart Cover, it's a nice two piece case.

    It's Fine

There are two things wrong with this product that cost it one star in this review: The name is misleading (it's not a case, it's a back cover) and, being Apple-branded, it's too expensive. However, it feels, looks and fits great and dovetails almost too well with its counterpart cover (the cover fits the "case" so closely that it can take an extra heartbeat or two to open if you don't catch it just right on the first try). I've never owned a silicone case before, so I do wonder how it will hold up over time, but I see no reason to think it won't be okay. One last thing: Other reviewers, of the case and the cover, were mad because they said it/they attracted a lot of animal hair. We have plenty of dog hair around and I haven't seen any come flying up to stick to either case or cover yet. Doesn't mean it won't, I guess. I'd recommend the case and cover without hesitation.

Color is fantastic, quality is poor.

Bought the Orange Silicone case, it looked just as I wanted it to look in terms of color. The feel and quality of the material is not what I expected it to be for the price it's being sold at. Lint, hair, and dust easily attract and are attached to the back. Not to mention the previous generation of "Smart Cases" also offered a cover for the front! Very disappointing.

    A really bad deal

It does not include the cover for the front. Just the cover for the back of the iPad. Despite having the same name as previous products which were complete cases, not a back shell. I bought it because I knew the smart case from the previous iPad mini included a cover, huge disappointment.

    I can't believe this

I was thinking about getting this case when I realized it was only the back part...how could Apple think it was a good idea?
First it becomes more expansive to buy the "two part option"
Second, it leaves area of the iPad unprotected
Third, if you grab the cover by accident you risk the magnet to snap off and drop the iPad...
Please apple bring back the smart case for the iPad mini. That was a real case and protected the iPad so much better than this ridiculous option.
The advantage of the Smart Cover was not only how much it protected both the back and screen but also that it didn't add to much to the slim profile of the iPad.

Hope apple reads this and bring it back for the next iPad upgrade.

    Good product... Crazy price!!!

The title says it all! It feels nice... Decent protection... Pairs great with the Smart Cover but... 100$... For an iPad case... Crazy! But I am enjoying them.., but if they change the iPad mini's size again... :/

    Over Priced under delivers

$59 for a silicone back that leaves half the side of your mini exposed. I didn't know I was getting half a case. $39 for the other half? Apple you have no shame ! For $79 I get a full case for an ipad air 2. This is going back! I wish there were negative stars.

    Should be easier to use

While aesthetically pleasing, the mating of the case and cover is such that opening the cover can be difficult. A fingernail is needed and I am sure after some time it will cause damage to the cover. Price is also too high for what you get. I purchased primarily for travel and will not use when at home.

The product name is misleading + $29 more than for the iPad Mini 2 CASE

The name of this product -- a "CASE" -- is a bit misleading until you read the description (which, mea culpa, I didn't). It's not a case like all of the other iPad cases, including the iPad mini 2 case that covers both front and back and retails for $69. Rather, this is just a back cover and then you have to spend another $39 to get a front cover and actually have a case. And doing it this way ends up costing $98 while the same cover for the iPad 2 (which covers front and back) is $69 -- $29 more for essentially the same thing.

I'm a die hard Apple fan and am immune to most criticism of the company but this isn't cool at all and I'm disappointed. I bought the case thinking it was, well, yeah, a case and now I have to spend $39 more for the cover which is bs. I'm actually considering returning the whole thing and sticking with the iPad mini 2 which I was going to sell -- which is probably an overreaction but that shows how annoyed I am.

Fits well and offers adequate protection but..

These cases along with the smart cover are nice and work well but if you keep your iPad in an environment where there's pets or other things this will attract hair on the back VERY easily and is rather annoying.

    $59 for only 1/2 protection

Last week i unfortunately dropped and broke my iPad Mini 3; of course I could now only buy the iPad mini 4. Apple, being Apple, had to modify the shape ever so slightly so my existing iPad 3 case didn't fit.

So, i had to I ordered this case, for $59 believing that it should provide both front and back coverage. Wrong! Its just a simple silicone backing. the Smart Case cover is a separate order for another $39. And only buried in the fine print does it tell you that comes separately. That's a combined $100 for a very simple case that should already have been included in the $750 i paid to begin with to buy the new iPad. I love the iPad Mini, but don't go changing dimensions and cases as well, for what can be nothing more than 1-2 MM of overall size difference.

C'Mon Apple. That is a rip off. Focus on quality upgraded products, not gross profits on accessories, especially such minor tweaks.
