Poor quality leather does not last

I read some of the reviews complaining about the quality but I went ahead and purchased this case anyway. I assumed that the complaints were from careless people and that I take very good care of my gear.

It was a great case for a month or two but then I felt the edges beginning to roughen up. Basically it is the leather (assuming it really is leather) separating and flaking away from the plastic underneath.

By contrast I have a *real leather* case for my old 5S - and that case has worn in with a nice soft feel that you would expect from leather. I still carry my 5S as a second network phone.

Apple leather case: 2-3 months before delaminating. Nice and slim but short-lived.
Non-branded leather case: 2 years and looking better than new.

2 stars because it was good while it lasted.

Feels great in hand, wears quickly.

This is the third Apple leather case I have owned and the first for my iPhone 6 (now 6s). I have used it since April and it is beginning to show signs of cosmetic wear around the corners. This case works best as a slip-proof attachment for the hand and minimal protection without drastically increasing the size and weight of the case.

    The Pros:
Feels great in the hand and fits the phone perfectly. This case is a great balance of protection without getting in the way of enjoying the slim profile of the phone. The ledge of the case (when looking at the screen) extends about 0.5mm which is just enough to keep the screen from touching the surface of an object when sitting on a table face-down. After the leather broke in, it became even more fitted to the device. I was able to attach a small metal plate to the inside of the case for my magnetic car vent clip to use GPS while driving. The plate fits easily.

    The Cons:
The price is a little too high. It should be priced more appropriately around $30-35. The wear of the leather seems to be the biggest issue with the case. The Apple leather cases I have owned for the 4s and 5s were great and lasted throughout the life-cycle of the phone. However, this case wore twice or three times as quickly especially around the corners. I would like to see more variation in colors for the case.

Let down compared to iPhone 6 leather case

Purchased the apple iPhone leather case with my iPhone 6 which was very well made and high quality. Since that purchase worked out so well, I decided to purchase the same case for my 6S, however the latest case is not as good. The case is not high quality, feels a lot more plastic than leather, and it is very difficult to use the volume control buttons and power on/off button.

    Easily scratched!

I've had a black leather case for my 5s for nearly 2 years. It has been used every day and shows very little sign of wear do I didn't think twice about getting a leather case for my 6s. Within 24 hours I had lightly caught it with my finger nail and now have a scratch across the back. The quality seems much cheaper and less robust than before.

Case not fit at the bottom.

The two edges at the bottom didn't fit and it's become widen as if my iphone are wider on the bottom edges. Is my case a defect one? Because I tried my friend's iphone 6 case and there was no complain whatsoever and it fits perfectly. Felt so great with the iphone 6 leather case, but this iphone 6s leather case, i feel dissapointed, very dissapointed.

    Very Good Case

Overall, I am delighted with my purchase. I was hesitant in buying this case after reading some reviews on here saying that the fit is awful around the phone - this is rubbish. The case fits perfectly around the iPhone 6s. It looks great, and feels like very good quality so I imagine it will last for a long time.

The only reason why I do not give it 5 stars is because the case makes it slightly difficult to press the power on/off unlock button. All of the other buttons are fine, it is just this one that - you have tor really press it down hard to activate the button. This will be something I will get used to. Other than that, the case is fantastic.

    Disappointed with fit

Went with this case although it is ridiculously expensive here in Norway (499kr) as I expected high quality apple workmanship and I have to say I am disappointed. The leather is wrinkled a little around the edges and it fits very poorly with the bottom part of the phone - it goes from a nice, secure-feeling ridge at the top to an almost falling off feel at the bottom (and yes I have refitted it several times). It is as though this was an iPhone 6 case made by a cheap 3rd party, not a 'premium' apple product specifically designed for the 6s. Perhaps this is simply a faulty case, either way I am not so impressed.

    Leather is very slippery

This leather case fits the IPhone 6 very well, but because the leather is so hard, it is very slippery. The leather case for the IPhone 5S was a softer leather and provided as excellent grip.

Because the IPhone 6 also has rounded sides vs the square sides on the IPhone 5S, the grip on the phone is not so great.

Nice fit and finish but button overlays kill the usability

I had a black leather case for my iphone 6plus and never had an issue with the covered buttons, but with my new 6s plus the leather case make it extremely difficult to use the 'off' button. The volume buttons are less problematic.

It's bad enough that I can't recommend the case even though the fit and finish are excellent

    Wast of money

I brought the leather case a two months ago and ever since it has got dirty and looks terrible Apple doesn't have any cleaning product to clean it without damaging the case. I feel i over priced. I thought it would have been easier to maintain the leather case but it looks horrible and nothing i can do about it. Never again. Such a waste of £35.00.

    Nice case but...........

Had a similar case by Sena on a iPhone 4, which is after 3 years still in very good condition. Most importantly all the controls on the iPhone were readily accessible.
Apples case for the 6S albeit very well made & very good fit does not offer the same functionality, the 'power on' & volume controls are almost impossible to operate, which is a shame as I always (used to) use the 'power on' button to wake the the phone.
Maybe Sena will make their own version in the future.
In Steve Jobs binary world something is either Abosolutely Fantastic or A Pile of S**t, this case is the latter.

Smart case. Fit improves after a couple of weeks

A lot of the reviews mention a poor fit around the bottom of the phone. When I first put it on my 6s is was quite tight, and the bottom corners took a bit of a push to get on. Even then the case was only 90% flush with the rear of the phone because of the tight bottom corners. Over time though (2-3 weeks) the case loosened up and now fits perfectly. I've actually come to appreciate this. If the case was a perfect fit to begin with, over time it would become looser.

Apart from the fit, the quality is what you expect from Apple. Premium feel and good light materials. Soft inside so it won't scratch the phone.

Awesome Case! Truly a Slim and Comfortable Feel

I really like this case. It actually changed my perception of the 6s. I upgraded from an iPhone 5, and I felt like the 6s was just a little too big. I tried a few different "slim" cases from 3rd party manufactures. They made the phone feel bulky and more difficult for my thumb to get across the screen.

This leather case almost makes the phone feel smaller than without a case. It feels great! The leather is pretty soft and you can tell it is a high quality product.

My only gripe is that you do have to press the buttons firmly to get them to respond. The case covers the volume and power buttons, and has small bumps where the buttons are. They are easy to see and feel, but a little difficult to press.

Overall I really like this case and would definitely recommend it to friends. I think it would make an excellent gift for any iPhone owner.

    Not Great

I had the equivalent case on my iPhone 6. I was impressed with the quality and fit of the case, so I didn't think twice about get the 6S equivalent when I purchased my iPhone 6S.
First impressions are that the leather is of lesser quality than it used to be. It has a very "plastic" feel to it. But more worryingly is the fit is extremely tight. There is very little give in the corners which makes it difficult to get the phone into the case, so much so that the bottom two corners nearest the lightning port just don't seem to fit properly at all. They don't wrap around the phone like the top two corners do. The case is such a tight fit that it actually leaves marks on the phone when you insert it. These marks rub off. To be sure this case wasn't a one-off faulty one, I got a second and the issues there were worse. The case seems to bow out at the bottom where it wasn't properly fitting over the bottom corners.
Given the quality I would normally get, and expect from Apple this case is a big disappointment to me.

Bad fit at around bottom of the phone

If you put one of these leather cases on it does not fit around the curve of the phone at the base properly. Side on this means that the bottom part of screen has no protection pretty much unlike at the top and the sides further up if you put it face down, tried two both the same, the leather just cant be moulded properly I think. The silicone cases fits perfectly however, and offers better protection all round.

    Premium Case.

This case is a fantastic addition to my fantastic iPhone 6S. The case fits snug and protects my device from dust, scratches and scrapes. Highly recommend the Midnight Blue colour...especially on a Gold iPhone.

Case looks and feels great, button action feels less great.

I've been using this case for a few weeks now (after upgrading from a 5S with the apple leather case) and I have to admit I'm a little disappointed.

The build quality is what I'd expect from Apple, the case looks great and feels great in the hand and seems to be as well made as the iPhone 5 version. It will protect your phone from the daily grind and will patina nicely in the process, will it stay looking brand new? No, but that's the beauty of leather!

However, I am very disappointed in the action of the buttons. The previous version was so buttery smooth and volume adjustments and powering on and off felt so good (really, go try one)! With the 6S version I feel like Popeye trying to smash a spinach can when trying to use the buttons, coupled with the larger and awkward size of the 6 it makes using the volume buttons as a camera shutter notably frustrating. The case is good, but I expect a lot from Apple products and the functionality of this case (especially after enjoying the 5S version so much) is disappointing. Also couldn't find a way to leave a review through the apple store iPhone app which was annoying.

Buy the case, but start doing hand strength workouts too.

    Disappointing

Power and volume buttons are impossible to press. I have now tried multiple ones, all the same. I even had one for close to two weeks, and it only marginally got better with use, but was still very stiff.

Disappointing fit for a $70 case.

Great addition to my new  device

Great case, feels good in the hand and adds a high quality feel to my new iPhone 6S. But on the other hand there are cheaper options that will protect more of the phone than just the back.
