    Poor quality leather

I've had two of these, the leather is absorbant and picks up grime and wears easily.
It will look great for the first couple of weeks, then will turn blackened around edges, despite how well you look after it, just with normal use. I have leather jackets and other leather products and I have never had problems with anything else.

Just not worth the money I'm afraid.

    Money well spent

I had the black leather case for my 6S, but when I bought the Iphone 7, didn't think I could justify spending the extra money so bought another case for £30, after two days came to the conclusion that yes I could justify spending the extra money just for a leather case. I have wasted £30 on the initial case. If you like the touch and feel, which I do, then you are hooked

    Great case, protection questionable

This case looks great, especially on a jet black phone. However, since this case is leather, it won't be perfect. For example, the protective lip is not the same all the way around. This is not good especially if you use tempered glass, because the glass will protrude from the case. This led my screen protector to be damaged. Luckily Zagg will send you a second protector if you damage the first one. If you don't drop your phone often, this is a great and stylish case. However if you do, I would recommend getting a more protective case, such as an apple silicon case, or a speck case (which I will buy).

    Good Protection - Fast wear

The last time i bought and used a leather case made by Apple was when Iphone 5s was released. I can day with certainty that this new design is 10x better. The added metal buttons add more response clicking and further enhances the look, specially on the Saddle Brown color with a copper tone. As far as grip ehich is what aloy of complaints come from, goes away after a week. Yes it was very slippery but im happy to report that im on week two and has very good grip and no more slip. Look im giving this case 4 out of 5 stars because i love it, and k have dropped the phone a couple of times and it has protected it well. But if I love it so much, then why the 4 stars? Because its so sensitive to wear. After two weeks it has so many scratches and marks that it looks like i have had it for 6 months(i can just imagine how it will be in 6 months if its verly two weeks). It scratches so easily. Everytime i reach into my pocket and grab it i probably rub my nails against it and bang there goes more scratches. As much as i love it i do wish it was a little more durable especially gor $50 price tag. My iPhone 5s case ended very worned out and ugly looking(it was also a tan look). I do have some hope though, it seems like the wear on this case will be less impactful and ugly than my previous experience. Only yime will tell.

Slightest drop will ruin this case

Obviously it is not good to drop your phone, but it happens...exactly why you are buying a case. This case looks amazing brand new, it scratches and get marks easily, but that is expected of leather. However, I dropped my phone once on pavement and it completely ruined all 3 corners, the leather ripped and chipped off. For the price of this case I am pretty upset :(

    Amazing Case

I was very hesitant about purchasing this case and I'm so glad that I did. I love the classic saddle brown color! The case protects the phone and is beautiful to hold and look at it. It ages very well and develops its own character. Tip: About once a week I take a bit of hand lotion (I use Aveeno) and rub a very small amount all over the case. I let it sit for a minute and wipe off the excess. It leaves the case smooth and clean. It removes dirt and any excess oil from your hands.

Love the colour, looks great and fits well. Unfortunately it marked as I was taking out of the packaging. The case needs a case, not quite what I had in mind. Great quality but the material is just too delicate for purpose in my opinion.

Love it, despite wear and tear.

Not sure what people expect when they buy a LEATHER case. Leather is delicate so it's obviously gonna show scratches and look "dirty". Looks great on the darker colors, especially saddle brown. Bright colors, not so much.

    Might be expensive but ......

You get what you pay for! I had an Apple leather case on my 6 plus, and the phone is unmarked. But when I bought my iPhone 7 I ended up spending £25 (because I thought £45 was a bit much) on a nice looking case (not sold on the Apple Store) that within 2 weeks started to look messy and after a month looked awful. Fortunately I managed to get a full refund and put the money towards this - looks classy and I've no doubt it'll be just as good as the one on my 6 plus.

    Great product

Bought this case the day I got my iPhone 7 and since then it's held up extremely well so far - the leather has aged well and the buttons haven't loosened up or fallen off which was my initial concern. So far very pleased!

    Beautiful and great fit!

I bought the Saddle Brown color. It's elegant, thin, and fits perfectly. I bought it because of how nicely the leather ages. It's already started to get darker all over, especially around the edges. The aluminum buttons are a nice upgrade from the previous version. They feel like you're directly pressing buttons on the phone. I agree that the case can scratch pretty easily, but because it's leather, it also "self heals," so it doesn't bother me. If you want a case that looks new forever, this is not your case. However, if you want a leather case that ages and gains more character over time, you should consider it.

    Looses color quickly

Loved the case when it came out of the box. Brilliant fit. Brilliant look. Not so please after now about a week of use where, carrying the phone in my pant pocket - front - not very tight, the color starts to come of the edges. This is not leather maturing and showing the well-worn look, I wouldn't mind. I have black background come through on the top corners and front edges as the brown color - probably painted rather than stained - comes through.

I love the IPhone 7 leather case, it makes the phone look very stylish and sleek. The leather is very good and ages well with time. Money well spent :)

    elegant case

Received this today, had a very hard time even getting it out of the "theft proof" box, but once I did and placed it on my iPhone 7 I was very pleased. Right now it is a bit slippery and I am hoping that it will soon be ruffed up so I don't feel like I'm about to drop my phone. Love the look it gives my black phone.

Another generation of good leather cases, but not perfect

I owned a prior generation Apple-made leather case. It served its purpose for years and protected my iPhone 5s without fail. It took over 2 years for it to start to fail in small ways. Hoping for the same with the new case for iPhone 7. However, there are some issues:

-The bottom is not protected on this model. It is left open for the speakers and ports. In the prior generation for iPhone 5s/SE the bottom accommodated the ports while still being covered.
-The volume buttons are covered awkwardly. I wouldn't call it precision. The button area has a hump outward because of the way the case is made with (outer) buttons being on top of the original buttons. I also agree with other reviews: the pressing of buttons can be affected by the case. Generally, it's not an issue though.
-The buttons should be leather like prior generations, not this colored aluminium stuff. For the saddle brown the buttons look more bronze - not an exact match. I would prefer leather or black buttons as accents. I wonder how they will wear, especially its colorization.
-The leather has a slight skunky smell when new. This is due to the tanning process I'm sure and it's pretty common for leather products.

Overall, very good looking. Saddle brown looks great with the matte black model. Other than the bottom, it's protected well and the sides and top are fully covered. Other than the volume buttons, this is a precisely made and well fitting case. It is thick enough in the back to protect the camera lens. In the front, the screen is protected from scuffs with a gap when laid face-down. I am happy so far and hope for similar performance as the last Apple leather case I owned.

    Leather Case

I had to put my review in after reading others. This is a wonderful case, it's like a fine leather saddle the longer you have it the better it looks. Yes scrapes, nicks, body oils all add to the overall look. If you don't like that look buy the black silicone.

Cut and indent on my case when it was brand new

I opened the box and there was a cut on the case with a small indent. Not what I was expecting of Apple
I don't mind scratches but a cut where u can peel back the leather, is another thing.
Otherwise case looks really good. Gonna see if I can change it at the store.

One of the best Cover you could get if you like antique leather looks..

Probably the 3rd day after getting scratches in my back i thought of y apple made such an expensive cover so fragile.. after a week use those scratches were no more there.. They jst blunted in the normal wear n tear of leather making my back cover look more shiny and darker.. Giving it the perfect looks. I wish I could post pics here to show you guys how graceful it becomes after 2 weeks use. I am going order another one for my wife as a gift.. Its really superb..!! The Saddle Brown becomes the lovable camel leather color by use.. Thats the beauty..

    Great case

Just picked the case up. As others have stated, it does scratch easier than more higher quality leather, but like all leather, it will scratch. It's essentially the same as the last iPhones model but this time the buttons are what I assume to be plastic(?) but could be wrong on the material. These work so much better than when the buttons were leather and had to be broken in and these allow the nice mechanical click that you normally get when you push the buttons without a case.

Great case but it is LEATHER. It is meant to show signs of wear and tear so if you want it to be brand new like when you buy it, don't purchase it! It's quite thin but enough cushion to handle small drops. I hardly drop my phone so I like the aesthetic part of it and the grippy feel of leather. Overall great minimalist case.
