Remixing Reality: Tronic is a NYC-based multimedia studio founded by Columbia Architecture graduates Jesse Seppi and Vivian Rosenthal. Their work moves between film, animation, architecture, and experiential design. They've delivered unique digital visions for both RES and Creative Review; directed spots for Nike, GE, and Adidas; conceived and executed installations for Diesel, Sharp, and Wired; and, in general, have worked to eliminate lines delineating one form of creative media output from another. These visual futurists are boldly combining architecture, graphic design, film, and animation through new uses of technology to create striking and conceptually based work.

Adidas: “White Out”

Conceived and directed by Tronic, “White Out” features Jenna Jameson as a mallet-wielding, white clad, arcade-obsessed femme-fatale in this spot for Adicolor, a line of sneakers from Adidas. “White Out” was a huge viral success on both YouTube and ifilm.

Mavi: “Eternal Double Happiness”

Tronic directed the short film “Eternal Double Happiness” using curator Sebastien Agneessen’s Mavi installation as both a backdrop and inspiration for the piece. The protagonist, dressed in the beautiful and whimsical clothes of As Four, explores this world of magical realism that literally comes to life before her eyes. A hybrid of live action and animation, her presence triggers the plants and animals to commence a fantastical dance around her.

Fuse: “Tile”

Fuse networks, dubbed the alternative music network to MTV, approached Tronic to design and brand both IDs and show packages for the new look of the TV network. Using architectonic forms and striking imagery, Tronic created subtle shifts in reality through unexpected uses of animation.

GE: “Ecomagination”

For their third collaboration with GE, Tronic designed a large scale CNC sculpture and video installation for GE’s Ecomagination campaign, showcasing its new energy efficient products.

Nike: “A Long Time Ago Tomorrow”

Given only the constraints of the words “heat” and “speed,” Tronic conceptualized, designed, and animated an all computer-generated animation of one man’s attempt to travel at the speed of light. “A Long Time Ago Tomorrow” explores both the physical and psychological effects of speed on the human body.
