Quickly Create Multiple Tracks

Need lots of tracks? You can create them without delving into the Environment or enduring repetitious menu moves.

Simply select Create Multiple from the Arrange window’s Track submenu.

In the screen that appears, select the type of track you need: Audio, Instrument, or Auxiliary. (Auxiliary is available only when using Logic Pro with Pro Tools TDM systems, where they’re used to host software instruments, or when using ReWire in Logic Pro versions 7.2 and up.)

Next, specify the number of tracks and whether they’re mono or stereo.

Let’s say you need to record a drummer using eight mono microphones plus stereo overheads and a stereo room mic. Just create the eight mono tracks, and then the two stereo ones — that’s two moves rather than ten. For even greater speed, assign a key command to Create Multiple Tracks.
