With your digital portfolio in iDVD, you’ll want to preview your project and then burn it to disc. Previewing your digital portfolio will guarantee that there are no surprises when your clients watch your digital portfolio. You can easily preview your DVD before you burn it using iDVD preview mode. Preview mode has a similar interface to the DVD player application, so you can be confident that what you see in preview mode will be the same as what you’ll see on the final disc. Once you’re satisfied with the results, you can then burn your digital portfolio to disc.

Save your project as a disk image

If you think you might burn more copies of your portfolio, you should consider creating a disk image of it. A disk image is a software version of your DVD that you can store on your hard disk. This disk image contains all the information burned to your DVD, and it will allow you to burn additional discs anytime you want without having iDVD open.

Save your project as an archive

Normally when you save your iDVD project, the file created is small. However, if you move this file to another Mac not every file needed for the project will be copied. If you want to make sure every file you need for a project is copied to another Mac, save your project as a Project Archive. To create a Project Archive, go to the File menu and choose Archive Project. The file will be larger, but you can be sure that every file will be there when you need it.
