Universal applications are designed to run flawlessly on both Intel- and PowerPC-based Mac computers. Universal versions of Final Cut Studio, Logic Pro, and Logic Express will be available by March 31, 2006.
If you own a current PowerPC version of one of these products, you're eligible for a low-cost "crossgrade" to the Universal version when it becomes available:
|Final Cut Studio 1.0||$49|
|Logic Pro 7.1||$49|
|Logic Express 7.1||$29|
The PowerPC versions of these applications are currently not supported to run on Intel-based Macintosh computers with Rosetta.
Attention Aperture users
A Universal version of Aperture, which will run natively on both PowerPC- and Intel-based Mac computers, will be available before the end of March 2006. New and existing owners of Aperture will be able to crossgrade to the Universal version at no additional charge via Software Update.
