The Milky Way Center Aglow with Dust

The Milky Way Center Aglow with Dust (Fig 2)

Data from only the longest-wavelength infrared color at 8.0 microns. Colors have been added to help distinguish levels of brightness in what would otherwise be a greyscale image. By concentrating on just one image, it is possible to see a far greater range of detail in the dust surrounding the Galactic Center than is possible in a multi-channel composite.
