These are the central portions of the four component images making up the full color composite (the Galactic Center is the bright spot on the right).The data taken at 3.6, 4.5, 5.8 and 8.0 microns were assigned to colors of blue, green, orange, and red and combined together. While a color image fundamentally contains only a red, green, and blue channel, it is possible to blend in additional images using intermediate colors like orange using Photoshop's "Screen" blending mode.
