Get iCloud up and running on your Mac in a few easy steps. Then set up iCloud for your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or PC.

Step 1

Make sure your Mac is running the latest version of OS X.

To update to the latest version, go to the Apple menu and choose Software Update to see if there’s an update available.

Step 2

Turn on iCloud.

Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu on your Mac. Click iCloud, enter your Apple ID and select the services you’d like to enable.

Step 3

Enable Photo Stream in iPhoto or Aperture.

Open iPhoto or Aperture and click the Photo Stream icon in the left column. Then click Turn On Photo Stream.

Step 4

Enable Automatic Downloads in iTunes.

To enable automatic downloads for your music, apps and books, open iTunes and choose Preferences. Then click Store and select Music, Apps and Books.*

Step 5

Turn on iCloud for the rest of your devices.
