Lightning to USB Camera Adapter

Overview

With the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter, it's easy to download photos and videos from your digital camera to your iPad or iPhone with Lightning support so you can view them on the gorgeous Retina display and share them with family and friends.

After you connect the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter, your iPad or iPhone automatically opens the Photos app, which lets you choose which photos and videos to import, then organises them into albums. When you sync iPad or iPhone to your PC or Mac, the photos and videos on your iPad or iPhone are added to your computer's photo library.

The Lightning to USB Camera Adapter supports standard photo formats, including JPEG and RAW, along with SD and HD video formats, including H.264 and MPEG-4. Requires iOS 9.2 or later.

I went on my camera and changed the charging option to off. After that it has been flawless! I am ready for Germany now!

Works

I bought this today to go with my iPad mini. Just posting here to confirm that it worked flawlessly between my 40D (shooting RAW) and my iPad mini. I'm now on t I bought this today to go with my iPad mini. Just posting here to confirm that it worked flawlessly between my 40D (shooting RAW) and my iPad mini. I'm now on the hunt for apps that will utilize this cable for tethered shooting or other cool things

Useful, if limited

A useful, if limited little cable; on my iPad Mini have only been able to make it work with cameras - no other USB devices. Anything powered by the USB port pr A useful, if limited little cable; on my iPad Mini have only been able to make it work with cameras - no other USB devices. Anything powered by the USB port prompts a 'The connected USB device requires too much power' message; anything self powered (tried with multiple thumb drives, self powered USB HDDs etc) triggers no reaction at all. Other USB devices tried (mouse, keyboard!) prompt a 'The connected USB device is not supported'. The good news is that it works fast and flawlessly with cameras - tested with Canon 50D and IXUS 100IS - brings up a separate 'Camera' group in photo album and allows the import of selected or all photos on the camera - RAW, JPEG and MOV formats and then post transfer asks if you 'want to delete the imported files from the attached camera'. Does not allow file export from iPad back to camera, and does not make available anything that the camera does not recognise as a file (ie MP4 files not shown - so can't import movies that way). So, does what it says on the tin - connects your Camera to your iPad and will be useful to allow download and/or big screen viewing of photos when in the field - but currently that's it.

Died within 6 months

Got the adapter on 03.18.2016, used 5 times and died last nite during a practice session. I use this with the iPad for my Samson Carbon 49 midi controller. I have a show in a week and now I have to go rush and get a replacement for something that was barely used. Horrible product.

What a joke, unbelievable!!!

This is unbelievable, all of a sudden, when connecting to my ipad I get this message saying: accessory unavailable and that's crazy considering the fact that it This is unbelievable, all of a sudden, when connecting to my ipad I get this message saying: accessory unavailable and that's crazy considering the fact that it was working for at least three weeks since I purchased it and I haven't had any problems until now. I use it as a midi connector for my korg microkey-air keyboard so it's not the keyboard it's this useless piece of junk of a product. I've tried an usb hub, still no solution. Thirty-dollar's down the drain. They are going to keep making billions of dollars, I don't care; I am done with rotten apple and they're mediocre overrated products. They seriously need to get it together, I am so tired of the frustration. Stupid me, I also spent over a hundred dollars in music apps because of my use of the camera connection kit for my production. Thank you so much Apple, for ruining my workflow and taking my hard-earned money. Pathetic!!!

Apple, you are insulting me!

I have purchased this item naive enough to think that it may allow me to transfer high-resolution photos from my DSLR into my iPad mini 4.. ..a very understanda I have purchased this item naive enough to think that it may allow me to transfer high-resolution photos from my DSLR into my iPad mini 4.. ..a very understandable mistake since it is presented this way.. HOWEVER, when I import TIFF photographs into my iPad the primitive "Photos" app automatically reduces the quality and compresses the TIFF format to a 3,5 Mpx photo. Apple, I love your products, but this is a major fail and I feel insulted. Stop trying to appeal to professionals when you are not able to keep up with their needs.
