Can I power a Thunderbolt Display from the mac-mini?
Wondering if I have to have an additional mains plug for the display or if it will run from power off the mac-mini.

If you mean "power" as in electricity, no. If you mean "signal" yes, but only if you have a Thunderbolt connector or a recentl DVI to Thunderbolt connector. If you have a Mini that does not have a newer set of dual processors you will not be able to use a Thunderbolt monitor.

Yes you have to plug in the included power cable into a wall socket when you use it with any Mac as the computer cannot provide enough power to supply both itself and the display.
