    Seriously awful

The sound is really good, holy cow, why are these things so huge and hard? I tried to wear them while listening to music, but I go through only 1 song before my ears just HURT. They are way too big and hard.

very pleased to the design of the earphone

Today, I broke by QY-90 bluetooth earphone, which was very cheap.
Because I'm kind of sick with the short usable time of BT earphones, I decided to go back to wired one.
I know there is already a lighting wired earphone from Apple, but decided to buy this 3.5mm one, because it can be used with any devices without a lightning port, e.g. Mac, Windows PC, Android phones, and so on.

I didn't understand the design of this earphone at first. There are two places where sound comes out. One is at the end and the other one is in the middle of the ear piece. I wondered why.

After using it, I found out that it's very clever design. You know... there are many people who lose their 'hearing' capability due to earphones, which output sound directly through the ear tunnel. It's not good for your tympanum. However, this Apple's one is not directed to that. The one on the tip side will hit the entrance wall of a ear and weakened. The one on the middle of the ear piece is not pushed into the ear tunnel by design.
So, it's kind of smart design for your ears.

I know that there are other kind of earphones, which is not attached to your ears but the bone under your ear (outside). If that bone is trembled due to speaker of earphones, you can also hear things from the earphone. It's said to be better for your ear health, but when I looked it up at Amazon a few years ago, such earphone was hard to find and once there are, they were expensive.

This Apple's earphone is kind of hybrid of such earphone and traditional earphone.
Unlike other earphones, it's comfortable to me ( means it can be uncomfortable to others. ;-) ).

My previous BT QY-70 didn't abide by the 'Sound Limit' setting, but this one did. At first I wondered why the volume was so low. :) I've used the 'Sound Limit' setting for years, and forgot its existence.

One thing I am sorry about this 3.5mm one is that it costs as much as the lightning version.
Because more and more lightning equipped iPhone/iPad would outnumber as time passes, and probably Macs could adopt the lightning port ( It's absurd that you should buy one earphone for iDevices and another one for Macs) in near future, I think it's more reasonable to lower the price for this 3.5mm one.

It's a little pricier than many 3rd parties' ( well, there are even much more expensive 3rd parties' also.) I like its build quality. Nice job, Apple. I like this design really a lot. It's practical, elegant and cute.

Nice sound quality and volume control-too bad they don't fit my ears!

I got a pair of Apple earbuds with my iPhone 6s. I'm not sure if they are like these or like the other ones on this site. So I am wiring basically the same review for both of them. They do not fit my ears. I tried them out for the first time and cannot keep them in my ears. I do not do extreme activities - just walk my dog and like to listen to music as I walk. These kept falling out of my ears and I kept trying to push them in-one ear is almost raw from the hard plastic rubbing against the inside of my ear. I can't believe Apple would design something so poorly. I am going to take them back to the Apple store and see if they can give me something else or if these come in a smaller size. If not, fortunately, my 3 cheap pairs of earbuds (all of which fit my ears very well, thank you) seem to work with the pPhone I have-the plug in fits the iPhone jack. Thank God!

    Good Sound Quality

I love my EarPods. They do sound great. I think it's definitely a big step up from the last generation earbuds.

They last about 9 months. Shoddy construction

These things are terrible. No wonder apple is trying to make us all go wireless. The jack goes bad in about 6 months of normal use. Stop trying to make us buy expensive wireless headphones and make these things a little better. The jack connection is the first thing to go. after that, the audio will start to go out. It's happened with every pair I've had over the years.

    slippery suckers

These do not stay in my left ear. Right ear is fine, only occasionally falls out or slips. The left does not fit my ear at all, and with no grippy silicone, it's out of my ear in about 5 seconds. Do not fit all ears.

    Good but break to easy

Ok this makes the 7th pair of these I've had that left side has went out on each pair now these both quit working l.... definitely not worth 30 dollars so don't waste your time if your looking for earbuds to last

    Powerful, Immersive Sound

Delivers the deep bass and impressive range of acoustics typical of ear-muffs, despite its low-profile and unassuming weight. Easy-access side buttons add convenient functionality. Premium headphones at an affordable price is tough to top.

    Uncomfortable and Slippery

These are the most uncomfortable ear buds I've put in my ears, ever! They were actually kind of painful like something was poking the inside of my ear. They also don't stay in my ears very well when working out. As soon as I start to sweat, out they come. Seriously, I like the older style ear pods with the foam covers. Those stayed in my ears. Since then, I've purchased other brands with silicone inserts. The softer silicone is much more comfortable and they stay in.

    Not Bad

I have very small ears so I was surprised when these fit my ears because no earbuds really ever fit. All around sound is like a 6.5-7. Nothing to be shocked about. But probably one of the best Earbuds that you get with a phone.

These ear pods do not fit y ears. Apple, you claimed that these ear pods can 'fit any shape or sized ear'. Your wrong. These do not fit my ear. I would rather that you include the ear pods that you can change the cup sizes in. I would give these ear pods a big 0/5

    One star is too much

I would give a zero if I could. I'm very surprised Apple hasn't reinvented these yet, especially with new lighting connector style and wireless version coming out. These are a very poor fit for all ears. Without some type of foam or rubber to hold them in place, they dislodge and fall out. If you "jam" them in your ear, they stay in place if you are perfectly still and are very uncomfortable. The moment you move, they dislodge. If you set them in the crook of your ear without pushing them in, the sound quality is not as good and they fall out even easier. I have a desk job and am constantly manipulating these to put them back in my ears. No wonder a bunch of folks have come up with attachments to hold them in your ear. Hmm... That may be the Apple goal... Create a separate market for the modification of their cruddy earpods.

I'm in the market for better earbuds... any recommendations anyone?

    Earbud fit

Hate these! I liked the old version better that comes with comfort and different size additions for fit and comfort. These are not beneficial for people with smaller ears and hurt!

    Loved them while they lasted

Only now has my right ear bud stopped in putting sound due to wire damage but I fiddle a lot and this is probably the reason behind this (whoops) apart from that they are great! Definatley need to get some new ones. Just saving up for them now haha. Recommend them to all

    Poor fit and Sound

Tinny sound, and one size does not fit all. Everyones ear is different so you'll be one of the lucky ones if they dont slip out every minute. Would be nice if you could pay less for an iphone and chose not to have these included with it.

    Great EarPods!

These EarPods are thin and light. You can hear well. In the other hand, they get dirty easily but, another beneficial factor is that you can also use them as an eraser for your pencils. Thanks Apple!

    There very creative

Unlike earphones which use suction to stay in one's ear, Apple's EarPods are shaped to fill your ear so there not distracting. There by far my absolute favorite ear audio device.

Good sound, terrible design and poor fit.

Ok I reviewed the wrong ear phones. These are standard ones that come with a phone and ipod. They are terrible. They look nice and have good sound, BUT the FIT is TERRIBLE. They will not stay in my ears, and I HATE the different left and right ear bud. I am always checking to see which is left and right. Why not make them the SAME!!! I guess this is just a way for Apple to up sell and make people buy a new set of ear phones.

    They keep falling out!

These little fellas keep sliding out of my ear! I can't walk around for longer than 5 minutes before I have to adjust them to stop them from falling out. In terms of sound quality, they're okay but definitely not better than beats in my opinion as stated in some reviews on here.
