I'm a real fan of brushed aluminium look. It's also quiet, doesn't buzz or make annoying sounds and it doesn't overheat even after several hours of continuous work.

Th I purchased mine about a year or so ago and it worked fine in the beginning but now my Macbook Pro does not read the drive when I plug it into the USB port. The drive is whirling away as though it was working but nothing! Have to purchase a new drive to perform backups on and not really happy.

Works well, Beautiful product, Would look into others before purchasing.

Pros: - Faster than normal Hard drives. - Beautiful Design - Solid construction Cons: - Should have just gotten Solid State Drive (faster). - I get they Pros: - Faster than normal Hard drives. - Beautiful Design - Solid construction Cons: - Should have just gotten Solid State Drive (faster). - I get they were going for a sharp design, but edges should be dulled in my opinion. Too sharp. - Comes with stylish rubber feet that come off immediately, stupid decision on whoever proceeded with this design.

      Looks Amazing (almost)

I bought one to back up my MacBook Pro and it worked smooth like silk. The style is also fitting. Only problems I had with it were the sharp edges (which could I bought one to back up my MacBook Pro and it worked smooth like silk. The style is also fitting. Only problems I had with it were the sharp edges (which could be worn away after years of use), the "PORSCHE DESIGN" letters got smudged somehow, I somehow got some chips along the edges (Aluminum is a soft material but still), and my slight OCD noticed that the light cut out was not parallel to the edge. Still a great drive though.

      Good now for 2 years

The problem with buying backup hard drives is they are not created equal and their inherent weak reliability seem to arise when you need them most. I bought my The problem with buying backup hard drives is they are not created equal and their inherent weak reliability seem to arise when you need them most. I bought my LaCie 1TB Porsche two years ago. I reformatted and partitioned the drive so it could backup both my Macbook pro and desktop mini. I have had to disconnect and connect from one computer to the other periodically backing up each. You're probably wondering why didn't I just one for each computer. I did this because I'm cheep and didn't want to spend too much money on something that may fail, as I have read in the trades. This little work horse has never let me down, yet. After two years my confidence is high so I will be buying another 1 TB LaCie Porsche design to avoid the trouble sharing the backup drive and also the fact is I need more space now. Hope I get another good one.
