I have brand new iMacs (3 of them in the office) and cannot get this wireless keypad to connect with any of them. I have troubleshooted, researched, and wasted too much time trying to make this thing connect to a computer. Bottom line: if you need a keypad, look elsewhere.

It paired as an audio device, yet talking into the keypad did nothing. Belkin is aware of this.....I called to get help. They say Apple is also aware of this. So thanks Apple, for wasting more of my time. Now we get to talk about returning this. Save yourself the trouble.

Change batteries with several new batteries to make sure this was not the problem. Finally had to return for a replacement. Had replacement less then one month and same thing happening again. Will not stay powered on and will not connect. When it does, it loses connection within 30 seconds. Now I sit on hold once again with support. They say its not compatible with my brand new iMac bought in December (7 Months ago). This is so frustrating.. Being a Mac user, I am not use to having to deal with equipment that is unreliable. This keypad is awful.

Since it isn't link to the onboard keyboard it doesn't know if you are holding down a command key. So if you use a program that requires holding down a command key and a number from the keypad. You are out of luck! you can't use it to get to ASCII characters if you want to use them in a windows based program. It is a shame since there is plenty of room for them to have put in those 3 keys. It does have function keys but I'm not sure how to map them to a command key.

Something better must be out there ...

I use this only because there is nothing better ava I do accounting part-time with my personal computer so it is very important that I have the numeric keypad. I use this only because there is nothing better available. It is battery operated rather than rechargeable. It is not possible to turn it off and save the batteries (2 AA) so I have resorted to opening the battery compartment and removing the batteries when I am finished. This is necessary because in my bag, if it gets bumped, it will be picked up by my notebook and I will get something like "77777777777777777777" in the middle of my work. Regarding the wireless connection - it sometimes doesn't connect. Sometimes it loses it's connection in the middle of working. The only way to remedy this is to restart my computer and sometimes take the batteries out. Pain in the a**. I was fooled by the feel of quality and didn't check reviews. Don't do the same. A wired pad would be a big improvement.

After reading the reviews when everything else failed I determined it was hopeless and told her to try an alternative. She returned it to Microcenter and they said it does work after connecting one in store. She has a new one and it works just fine. Maybe there’s a batch that has problems and she had one. Who knows. I suggest exchanging one if it isn’t working for you as Apple probably wouldn’t continue to sell these if they didn’t work.
