      MagSafe to MagSafe 2?

This converter is a must. Why Apple changed a perfectly working device to the MagSafe 2 is beyond me... the MagSafe 2 is terrible and pulls out twice as easy. This converter is a must. Why Apple changed a perfectly working device to the MagSafe 2 is beyond me... the MagSafe 2 is terrible and pulls out twice as easy. And when you use this converter - it is even worse as far as accidental pull-out.

Better than the Magsafe 2 adaptor alone

This is the solution, use this with your older chargers or EVEN BUY A NEW 85W MAGSAFE 1 or 1.5 and USE THIS ADAPTOR instead of the magsafe 2 adaptor by itself. Unless your household is accident prone with children or wild pets, you will probably be happer this way, with a power adapter that doesn't fall out ever time you pickup your laptop or move. It is surprisingly strong where you won't loose it, and will still break away in moderate conditions, not all conditions (like if your laptop is at the edge of a slippery table and it is pulled at the right angle.) This is a the best solutions for adults that need to get work done and not worry about their adaptor falling out.

Yes, I did get mine to work again, but only after brushing it with stiff brush AND cleaning it with a Q-tip dipped in alcohol on both sides of the adapter. NOT something that should have to be done on a regular basis. Design FAIL.

      Poor Quality

I bought 2 adapters. Right out of the box one worked and the other didn't. I'd be willing to believe that I just got a lemon but considering the number of poor I bought 2 adapters. Works Off and On, Shouldn't Even be Necessary

First off, I was disappointed to find that Apple hasn't even updated their Cinema Display to work natively with the new MacBook Pro MagSafe port. You'd think after spending over $1,000 on a display, and then $2,000+ on a laptop, that Apple would've had the foresight to update the adapter on the Cinema Display. As a business that prides itself on design and ease-of-use, this is just ridiculous. Secondly, the converter doesn't work reliably. I've purchased two in the last three months. There are no moving parts, so I don't understand the converters lose contact and refuse to charge the laptop after about 30-40 days. My second one is now acting up. The MagSafe converter is the only option to get these two devices to work properly with each other, and with that, you'd think Apple would make something that would work reliably.
