Works well with the iPad (4th generation) and iPhone 5

Works well at mirroring iPad 4th generation and iPhone 5 via HDMI cable. Tried it with photos and video and worked well.

Occassionally, after the first few weeks, we would have to unplug the connector then plug it back in to reset the tv connection. Not a big deal since electronic problems happen and are easily fixed this way. I bought this in mid-January and it lasted until this past Monday, March 7th in the middle of a movie. I have $4 non-brand charging cables at Fry's that have lasted through years of wear and tear. I certainly expect an expensive item like this with Apple's branding to last more than a few months. We really only need it to watch one network and for the low-tech ease of use, otherwise we hook up with my Windows laptop which rarely needs to reconnect and displays a better picture. I have had a great relationship with resolving other ipad issues and, really, just expected a better quality item.

It does not output the native Retina resolution and add some lag in the display. Was hoping to get something like the old VGA out for iPad 2 and other device that output real time video but no, this so far from that, can't be used to convert an iPad into a desktop device. Not recommended. Apple should release a TRUE REAL TIME, NATIVE RESOLUTION HDMI output adapter for iPad to compete with the MS Surface.

      Worked great at first

When I got my adaptor it was awesome! I watched Netflix, Amazon Prime just about everything off my iPad. It worked better than the Roku! The best feature to me When I got my adaptor it was awesome! I watched Netflix, Amazon Prime just about everything off my iPad. It worked better than the Roku! The best feature to me was you could charge the iPad while using the adaptor at the same time. All of a sudden it doesn't charge any more. I don't really have $50 to replace it. I used the adaptor a lot and to have to unplug to charge for a few hours is not convenient. I only gave it three stars because for the price, it should have lasted longer.
