  • Overview

Thunderbolt technology supports fast data transfers with two independent channels of 10Gb/s each. And Thunderbolt 2 technology can bond the two channels for a superfast 20Gb/s. Use this cable to connect Thunderbolt-enabled devices to the Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 port on your Mac.

The Apple Thunderbolt Cable lets you connect a Thunderbolt-equipped system to a Thunderbolt device. Connect a Thunderbolt-equipped Mac in target disk mode to another Mac for fast data access or system migration, or network two Thunderbolt-equipped computers.

The cable does feel a little fragile, but just like any high end HDMI cable, you shouldn't be moving these cables allot to prevent the cable snapping internally. The Cable comes nicely packaged and includes a small information packet. The only negative thing i could say about the product is the issue of the price, i would recommend a third party cable if you are low on money. Though the cable, expensive or not, does it's job and is quality made.

Did a test to see what was faster and it fell short of the CAT5e. Problem is that the CAT5e can only take about 5/gbs and CAT 6 is 10/gbs, so I would have to go buy a CAT 6 and another coupling just to jack into my airport. I am trying to use it to transfer files from macbook to iMac, but that is the only option I can come up with.
