The trick is to choose the correct ear tip to get a good seal in the ear. If the seal is poor, the bass will be reduced. With a good seal the sound and noise isolation is quite good.

      Meh

I had high hopes for these headphones. In particular, the idea of two drivers appealed to me. The highs and mids on the headphonee are good. The bass, however, is lacking any form of substance. I recommend that you pass on these.

You will get about 6 weeks of good use out of these and then you will battle the ear pieces to keep the silicone pieces on and the buds in your ears. For something that costs this much, they should be usable for more than 6 weeks.

Apple should be ashamed ( and I am a self confessed Apple fan boy)

Brought a pair an hour ago at the Hornsby Westfield Apple Store. Always been quite happily with ear buds but thought surely for $129 they must be a step up. Brought a pair an hour ago at the Hornsby Westfield Apple Store. Always been quite happily with ear buds but thought surely for $129 they must be a step up. But honestly I can't believe how bad they sound. THE worst sounding earphones I've ever owned. Tinny no bass just truly horrible. I did a direct comparison with my ear buds and they sound a whole lot better. I tried changing the silicone cushion but that made no difference. I really expected more from Apple - I am going to take them back right now- means another trip to Westfield but I feel ripped off. If anyone from Apple would care to respond I'm all ears

Tinny sound and an overall disappointment

Wow - I have to say that I am deeply disappointed with the quality of the sound from these headphones. I really expected something better given that I find the standard headphones to be ok. Tinny, lacking bass and clarity and in fact, just lacking on every critical dimension. And for 3x the price for the standard headphones (welcome to prices in Europe!) I wanted something superior. Instead, I got something inferior.
