Will the wireless trackpad eliminate the internal click I get from the built in trackpad on my MacBook Pro when I record/edit audio books?

I have a MacBook Pro using OS X version 10.6.8

  • The Magic Trackpad makes a slight click noise when you push down on it. Just like the built-in MacBook trackpads.

In either case, I recommend turning on the "Tap to click" and "Secondary click" options under Trackpad settings in the OS X System preferences. Then you can click by just lightly and silently tapping the surface of the trackpad, without ever setting off the click switch underneath the trackpad.

And if you need absolute silence for recordings, I also recommend sticking a few sheets of paper or a mousepad under the trackpad. If your desk isn't perfectly straight, the metal trackpad can wobble slightly when you push down on it, making a slight tapping noise on your desk.

Unfortunately for recording sessions, the Apple Keyboards click a lot as well, and I don't know a workaround for them.
