I have an older macbook pro with no thunderbolt connection can I still use the thunderbolt display ?

    No the thunderbolt display and all thunderbolt devices will only work on newer Mac's which have a thunderbolt port. The previous port, whilst a similar shape, is only a Mini DisplayPort socket used for connecting to external screens (TV, monitor, etc)
