what is 3G? I want to purchase an iPad for my mum but she only has a telephone line. can she get a wifi or is 3G enough

    Tough question - enough for what? Email, surfing the web, app's, iTunes? The answer is yes and no.

    Reading an email with no attachments would be fine. Receiving an email with a large photo file attached could get frustrating - will take longer to download the file.

    3G will take longer to download and update apps, it will take forever to download an iTunes song purchase. Should be OK for book purchase.

    3G will take longer to load web pages. If she has never had a high-speed internet connection, she may be fine with it.

    It all depends on what she will do with her iPad.
