Can you turn the fingerprint sensor off on the iPhone 5s and just use the passcode?

    Yes you may. On the iPhone 5S you have to have a pass code and you have the option to use your fingerprint but you have to have the pass code no matter what even if you have a fingerprint. The fingerprint is only a convenience for you so it unlocks instantaneously.

  • Yes, you are able to decide wether or not you want to use the finger print scanner in your settings. However it is very secure as it is only stored on your device, never transmitted online to apple or any other service, and I think much quicker and safer than a passcode. I personally would use it, but if you feel uncomfortable with it than , yes you can turn it off.

  • Yes! Go to settings (if you have iOS 7.1) scroll down on the main screen until you find passcode (under sounds)ios 7.0.6 or below go to settings general touch id and passcode put in your password then go to touch id click edit and delete all of your fingerprints. Thats it!
