how do i transfer my photos to a mac?

I am considering buying a Mac but have many, many photos on my PC. Is it difficult to transfer my photos over to the iPhoto application? What is the best way to get help with this process?

The easiest way will be to transfer your entire My Photos folder from your Windows computer to an external hard drive. Then you would plug the external drive into the new Mac, open iPhoto, and import all the photos. It will automatically group them based of the date they were taken. Then you can use the external hard drive as a backup with Time Machine on your Mac.

  • Actually an external hard drive is a much easier and economical solution. Save your photos to the hard drive and then import them into iPhoto

  • The best way would be to purchase the One to One service when you purchase your Mac. The store will then transfer everything you need from your PC to Mac.

If you wish to do this by yourself though, it'll just be a case of burning your pictures to DVD and then import them on your Mac with iPhoto.
