Is an Apple a good choice for Network Engineers?

I am a Network Engineer and am due to receive a new laptop this quarter. Specifically I operate in the security realm of things and have been able to find a lot of software relevant to my job that are free. Traditionally I've used Windows but am wondering if Apple might be an acceptable alternative. I like the fact that I can run Windows and Apple using Bootcamp. Any networking type folks out there made the switch and are happy?

Boot Camp might be a good option, but you might not need it. Mac OS X is a variant of Unix, so most Unix and Linux network software will work on Mac OS X.
