What do I need to connect a 15" Macbook Pro with the Thunderbolt port to a Display with a full size Displayport? Does Apple sell a cable?

  • DisplayPort displays should use a standard DisplayPort cable for your connection to a MacBook Pro, whether you have the newer models with Thunderbolt or of course the older models with just a DisplayPort mini connection. There is no need to use the more expensive Thunderbolt Cable for a simple DisplayPort monitor, as this will not work.
