what is the difference between core2duo and i-3 processors i am thinking about a refurbished imac

The difference is speed. The Core 2 Duo is older so it is a bit slower, but not by much. Intel's "i" processors like the i3, i5, and i7 are all fast but not noticeably much faster. They can run newer programs better than the Core 2 Duo, but I wouldn't waste my money. I'm running on the Core 2 Duo and it still satisfies what I'm looking for in my Mac experience. In the end, it's really all the same.
