    QuickTime Pro - beware!

Bought Quicktime Pro for Windows (at a premium, as I am in Canada ?!), and it worked for a week, then stopped. Uninstalled, reinstalled. Hours of online searching. No luck. No support from Mac. Money goes down drain, can't get a refund.

    Not so great

I bought the previous version, used it about 3 times and now must buy again to keep up with version changes. I wish I could say something to Apple, but I'm reduced to venting my anger in a subdued review which will be read by people with no interest in my petty problem. All I can do is not buy Pro again. "Ouch!!" says Apple. "Who threw that pinto bean at me?"

Tried to say something negative , but Apple censored the title. Guess they already knew what a lot of people would write.....

Trying to install Pro on an HP running Vista, but the instructions don't work. Even read the directions 3 times. Complete trash.

    Read Reviews

There is a reason this has so many negative reviews! I read 'em didn't believe it, bought it....shouldn't have.

In spite of the reviews I read here...

I paid for the upgrade anyway... opened a simple flash animation in QT7Pro, I made this flash specifically for video, exported from flash as a .mov, then exported from QT7Pro as a movie, in settings I unchecked the 'prep for internet streaming' and left the rest of the settings at default.

About 16% of the way into the export, I get the dreaded 'Buffer Underrun' error message, this is PRO software?

Unless they mean this program will professionally let you generate error messages like never before... then it would make sense. As far as simple video creation functionality goes, then it falls quite short.

My system is a twin Xeon 3.06 Ghz each, 1Gb RAM, Accelerated video card... thats not enough machine to run this program?

    $30 wasted

Wow, pretty up to speed on tech stuff and I though an Apple "PRO" product would at least give me some pretty functional, basic tools with a reasonable user interface. Debated on going everything from Vegas to Final Cut but just needed to quickly an easily cut out stuff from HD cam to post to web. I was totally denied. what a bummer...

    Value for money?

I Think that Quicktime Pro's extra features compared to the standard version is laughable. Why should you pay about 30 dollars for it. I think it is way to expensive. You can do a lot of the stuff i iTunes..

    What a waste of money.

I should have just thrown the money out the window. I have not gotten this program to do ONE thing they advertised. If I wanted to look at a picture of Madonna all day long I could have hit Google.
Not one video will transfer to ipod and as a matter of fact, I haven't even gotten ONE of my vid files to even play!
WASTE WASTE! Do not get this.

    Can't reload.

So I don't have a problem with QT Pro itself. But I had to re-do my hard drive, now my registration number won't re-take. When I input it in preferences, it looks like it takes it, but then when you close and re-open, it's not registered as pro. Can not find any help on the website, nor can I find a way to contact for help. Booo Apple. This shouldn't be this hard.

    $30 Mistake

Cannot play .mov files from a Sony EX-1. Other than viewing and editing, I have no other use for this product. Useless. I don't recommend. Waste of money.

    Cannot convert all files

I have both Mac and PCs, captured footage on an iMac at school using Final Cut Pro 7. Found out that files captured in Final Cut are converted with AIC (apple intermediate codec) which can ONLY be read on Macs that have Final Cut installed; even my Macbook couldn't read it but thought it was cause my macbook was old so I purchased QTPro7 for PC (because my HP is brand new) so it could convert .MOV files to .AVI files but it doesn't work.

I called support and got transferred a couple of times but finally spoke to someone helpful that explained it to me and I was refunded my money. DON'T buy if you are trying to convert .mov to .avi captured in Final Cut!! The only way to resolve that issue is to export from Final Cut as a quicktime conversion compression. Wish someone had told me this before I spent hours figuring it out :(

    Not worth rating

    Biggest Waste of Money ever!
It doesn't do anything special that any other free program can do. I had a hard time converting my video files and gave up. Not worth a cent! And now, I cannot even recover my lost registration key because the site cannot direct me to the page! Good Job Apple!

Great product if you have the ability to follow instructions

I'm not sure what all the negative feedback is about, but this software works great. You can convert audio from one format to another. Some said you can't make mp3s, but you can convert audio into .wav format with Pro. Hello. You can convert video to many formats as well. You can capture pieces of video or audio and paste them anywhere you want to make your own movies or recordings. You can add special effects. Quite frankly, you can do a ton compared to the paltry $29 price. I'm not a computer guy by any means, and it only took me about 15 minutes of trial and error to figure out how great this product is. After you install, click on "Help" and you will be taken to a website that easily explains how to do everything.

    Don't Waste Your Money!!!

This Program SUCKS! Don't waste your money on it. I would rate it no stars if i could.

I bought an ipod with video and i was hoping this program would let me convert all my home videos stored on my computer to a format that my ipod could read. It doesn't. Whenever you try to open a movie file in it, it just says the file is not a movie file. I tried over and over again, and it just doesn't work. Quicktime support couldn't even tell me how to use it.

I saw that it was rated really low when i bought, but i ignored the reviews, and wasted my money. All i wanted to do was put home videos on my ipod. IT DOESN'T WORK. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

    A usless product

I did the mistake to not believe the reviews. I lost my money and my time. It is a useless product does not do what it says and does not work with the Itunes. The thnik is it is working with other programs even free ones. It is a shame for a wellknown company like apple to offer such a products. I am really disappointed.

    Negative 5

The only good thing about this program is that it does export a mov file to something that can be edited with a windows based product. AVI is your only option though. The other downfall, is if the video is 2 hours long, and you want to keep the integrity of the video the same, there is no acceleration speed. It exports at 1:1 speed. You cannot apply credit or fade-in screens. You cannot add introductions. Basically, everything the online representative told me was a lie, except the fact that it will convert the file to something I can use with some real editing software.
