    Cheap plastic, a little disapointed

    • Written by from Neshanic Station

Maybe I didn't read the description well enough, but I really wasn't expecting this to be plastic. Its painted like aluminum, but its still adds a cheap feel to my all aluminum peripherals. Twelve South usually makes some really cool stuff... but they always seem to cheap out on the details... for the high cost, this was definitely a huge disappointment.

    Big disappointment

    • Written by from TORONTO

    1. Grossly overpriced for a hunk of plastic.

    2. More importantly, causes trackpad to behave oddly. The left click didn't "feel" the same as it did before (or the same as a right click), because the track pad is held in a slightly fixed position (I think it hovers a tenth of a millimetre over the desk surface). Doesn't sound like enough to make a diff, but it does; the feel is off and it makes you stumble.

    3. Trackpad does not work so well when it's THAT close to the keyboard; every time you use the cursor keys, unless you are VERY carefull, a stray finger brushes ever slightly against the trackpad, and--disaster reigns.

Will be returning mine after two disappointing days.

    Sad waste of $30

I love the idea of this product. I was happy to spend the money to get it. I was quickly made unhappy when I realized how poorly thought out this really is. The "H-Bar" is so incorrectly sized that I am unable to get it to fit between the trackpad and the keyboard. While trying to push it into position, it left a noticeable rub mark on the keyboard and ended up slightly cracking the surface of the trackpad. (That's how much stress it put on the trackpad.) I have given up on using the stabilizer piece because it simply does not fit around the edge of either device which completely negates the lap-use angle of buying this product. Very disappointed. Save your money, please.

Simply does not work at the desk!

    • Written by from Austin

I was VERY excited to receive this product, only to have to remove it a day later. The concept is very sound... the usability is NOT! Here's the problem; it's IMPOSSIBLE to type without your pinky accidentally tapping the Magic Trackpad, thereby making your cursor (seemingly) randomly relocate to elsewhere on the screen. This happens extremely often and makes typing on the wireless keyboard nearly impossible. I thought I could work to avoid this or separate the keyboard and the Magic Trackpad by an inch or so (while still having both inserted into the C channel tube), but no dice. Even over an inch or more away your pinky will randomly strike the Trackpad and your cursor will randomly relocate mid-typing. You simply CAN'T locate the Magic Trackpad right up against the wireless keyboard... too bad... it would be awesome if you could.

If you're going to use this for couch surfing, it will probably work ok, as your typing will probably be limited. But for daily use at the desktop, it simply doesn't work! Buyer be warned...

Bad. Directional Key Triggers Mouse Click

    • Written by from BURNABY

I brought this today after looking at some of the reviews online. However when i got home and installed it, it is a totally different story. The assembling was easy. It fits almost perfect with no gaps whatsoever. But i found 2 fatal problems that makes this product almost unusable.

    1. The directional keys will trigger a mouse click because it is too close to the magic trackpad. It is hard to align it perfectly straight even on a flat surface.

    2. I am unable to access the power button to reboot the keyboard when needed. Also If u try to push the keyboard and trackpad together, it sometimes "press-and-hold"s the power key and send it into pairing mode.

    I am returning this.

I found the MagicWand unsatisfactory for use on my lap in a home-theater environment. The problems were so bothersome that I returned the MagicWand for refund.

Not worth the plastic it's made out of...

    • Written by from Kokomo

It's a pain to install. The "H-beam stabilizer" or whatever it's called wouldn't slide on. I had to attach the keyboard to the trackpad and THEN put it in the tube. Which by the way, doesn't hold either peripheral well at all, EVERYTHING MOVES AROUND! Definitely wouldn't have gotten it again if I had it to do over, thanks for nothing Twelvesouth...
