    Reasonable and functional.

They've actually quietly changed the design. The previous plastic bar and rubber piece to keep the track pad and keyboard flush have been replaced by a single plastic piece. It looks cleaner, and more importantly the trackpad actually clicks unimpeded now.

For 30 bucks it does what it's supposed to do.

    good product. kind of overpriced

    • Written by from Shamong

This product does exactly what it states and does it very well. I am very happy with the product as it functions exactly as expected. However, i should have paid more attention to the other reviews. It was a little disappointing to discover that this 30 dollar product is a fairly cheap piece of plastic.

While I would've liked better build quality (the plastic spacer between the trackpad and keyboard falls out if you don't set it up just right), this is how the keyboard and trackpad should've been designed to begin with. You'll need to set tap-to-click if you want to use it on your lap.

Received this product from Amazon today and after spending half an hour to figure out how to install it correctly, I'm loving it!

I got this to use with my keyboard and trackpad when I use my MacBookPro with the HDTV, and it works like a charm! Couch potatodom, here I come!!

The only thing is that the instructions to set up and get the little thingamajigs in place are not very good. No illustrations. Just one line.
Luckily I found this YouTube video that reviews it and shows the correct way to do it... And now I'm a happy camper!

    Works perfectly

    • Written by from Bethlehem

Some reviews describe problems with this product, either inserting keyboard and trackpad into it, or that it's unstable once assembled. This was not my experience.

The product arrived, I unpacked it, clipped my keyboard into the left side, my trackpad into the right side, inserted the strip to join keyboard and trackpad, and then the plastic filler to complete the process. Total time - less than two minutes. Result - an elegant and seamless union of keyboard and trackpad that makes the two look, and work, as if they are a single product.

I use my keyboard on a desk. It's totally stable there. But if I pick it up and wave it around the connection between keyboard and trackpad is still perfectly stable so I believe it could be used on one's knee too.

My only complaint is that the price is ridiculous because the product is really only three pieces of plastic.

Bottom line: Works great; too expensive.

T-Pad Insert is annoying, overall great product.

    • Written by from Philadelphia

I was looking for somewhere to put the wireless keyboard and trackpad after getting rid of my coffee table, and this was the solution. It enables you to be able to easily type from your lap with the keyboard sliding around.

The only reason I didn't give it the 5th star, was because I don't like the design of the T pad insert. It took longer than expected to install because it is a pain to get that T pad into place. I'm not looking forward to doing it again when batteries need to be replaced. Other than that it is great!

Very nice overall; hard to assemble

    • Written by from Chino Hills

Once I got this thing together it held up really tight, but I dread having to change the batteries. Assembly for me was different than the instructions. The H bar is so tight that I couldn't just slide it in per their instructions. I had to assemble it outside the wand then snap the keyboard and mouse in together.

    Best Keyboard/Trackpad Combo

    • Written by from Medicine Hat

The Magic Wand is simple, and it provides the natural feeling of a Mouse/Keyboard from anywhere. This product fits perfectly on your lap and is fairly comfortable to use in this position.

The only minor downfall of this product is it's loss of the "Click" function when not being used on a hard surface. Fortunately OS X has a "Tap to Click" function which works just as well, but may take a bit of getting used to.

Overall I would recommend this product as it does exactly what it was meant to: Marry the Keyboard/Trackpad together to provide natural navigation, from the comfort of anywhere you can see your Mac's display.

Very Nice... (with one minor fault)

    • Written by from Corinth

Keeps things together perfectly as advertised if you plan on using it in a "couch" scenario. One thing to note is that if you're going to use it on a desk (as I do) the vertical "I" bar that attaches the trackpad and keyboard slightly restricts the use of the physical pad click (makes it a bit harder to push down). The solution I found is to install the long "C" clamp without the "I" bar. This still keeps the keyboard neatly together with the trackpad but allows the click feature of the trackpad to "float" and it's physical click feater is unaltered. If you're going to use it in a couch scenario, install it as directed since as you won't be using the physical click but rather tapping on the pad.
