Do not charge for over 2 hours

    • Written by from Alberta

I love these. I run with them almost daily. The sound quality and battery life is fantastic. The provided "wing" tips do not work for my ear so I use the buds themselves wrapped around the back of my head. They don't bounce around at all during intense runs and workouts. However if they do get sweaty they tend to slip out of the ear quite easily.

I had the buds for only 6 months however and after one run they had died, so I plugged them in using the provided USB cable and charged them overnight like I always do. In the morning the light indicated they were fully charged, however I could not get them to power on. I called support and they had me charge them again and test the button to see if it was sticking which it was not. Support told me that charging the buds for more then 2 hours will damage the battery. I searched the included documentation and it says buds will charge in about two hours but does not mention anywhere that it will cause damage to the buds.

Support did however send me a full replacement under warranty. Took about two weeks but they arrived. Great customer support.

    Fall out of your ears

    • Written by from Vancouver

I've owned the Jaybird freedoms for 2 years. Upgraded to these when my Freedoms stopped working. Ended up returning these news ones bc they just don't stay in your ears like the old ones used to!

Now looking to buy the old ones again!

    Beyond Expectations!!

    • Written by from Park City

I received the JayBird X Premium Bluetooth Headphones for Christmas and I have to say, they are truly amazing! I consider myself a bit of a headphone snob, being very partial to Bowers and Wilkens. I have to say, the sounds quality is superior to even my B&W headphones.

Take the time to size them to your ears with the appropriate buds and you will not believe the quality of sound. Easy to use, easy to charge. After having a cord to my phone for years and years, the freedom of exceptional bluetooth earbuds is so much fun.

I cannot recommend them enough. Revolutionary. Truly revolutionary.

(Helpful Hint... Watch YouTube videos related to fitting and inserting them into your ears appropriately. Will help significantly. Directions that come with the earbuds are subpar.)

    not suitable for gym workouts

    • Written by from cheshire

I bought these earphones with the sole intention of using them for the gym... they failed. 3 reason: 1, I found it hard to make them stay in even though I tried every combination even worse when you sweat, 2, in order to hear the base you need to push them right into your ear. 3 The cost against quality of sound and usability is poor at £150. I had previously used the Jabre sport which are better but the volume is not very loud but retail for about £65. I have now just exchanged jaybird for the Dre Powerbeats2 wireless, these are awesome they stay in, good base and volume however they are on the pricy side at £169 but worth it if you are after quality

Great sound, when they stay in ear...

    • Written by from Toronto

I'd love to recommend these ear buds, but just can't since they never stay in my ears! I spend more time keeping them properly adjusted than actually enjoying my music, unfortunately. These are definitely NOT the product to buy if your intent is to use them while working out! I have the same experience even just walking (nothing hi intensity there), sorry JayBird! Great sound, horrible wearability! :-(

alright but not great for 1year

    • Written by from waipahu

I replaced my jaybird bluebuds x 3 times. 1st time it work a good 6 months. 2nd time a good 1.5 month. 3rd about 2 months. it seems it breakes because of sweat, but jaybird will never tell you. This thing supposed to be sweat proof. What killed me for this product is returning it all the time, but the customer service is great and I wish that shipping is free.

if you work out all the time, you mind as well stick with earbuds w/ wires. This product will not last with gym freaks, and i train pretty much all day.

    Awesome Earbuds

    • Written by from Marietta

After trying just about every bluetooth earbuds available, I've settled on the BlueBuds. Although I hesitate to say too much about sound quality since for in-ear buds it depends so much on the listener's anatomy and preferences, these buds sound great. Good strong bass but not exaggerated (i.e. perfect even for jazz or classical). The retention system works wonderful, battery life is fine, and the buds are nice and light. The strap adjustment also lets you eliminate the annoyance of having the cord slap against the back of your neck while running. And, oh yeah, the company has awesome customer support.

Very good quality for bluetooth. Make sure you have a good fit.

    • Written by from Somerville

I was very pleasantly surprised by the sound quality of these. Bluetooth doesn't transmit the highest quality audio but these do a very good job of maximizing the sound. Of course these won't be as good as wired headphones at the same price but these are great for being wireless and lightweight. Perfect for working out. Make sure you get the fit right or they won't sound good. I had to try all 3 tips twice and ended up using the small ones and putting the wires over the ears. Now they sound great.

    Amazing fit and sound!

    • Written by from Toronto

I was skeptical when I forked over $200 for these buds but one day in, I am convinced. The fit took a little of fiddling around with but once they are in you are set! Sound is great. I recommend it so far!.

    Worth Every Penny!

    • Written by from Prescott

Not as much bass as my my wired Bose MIE2i ($150) but better mids and highs, not as clear as my Etymotic ER4P's ($300+) but much deeper bass. A nice compromise between the two. Must have a good seal in the ear to get the sound these are capable of. Amazing range, I leave my 4S on my workbench and can walk around a 3000sq/ft garage full of large vehicles and you'd never know they weren't wired to my phone! They even work through concrete/steel walls (only 1 wall at a time). If anyone is having range issues YOU are doing something wrong. Great battery life for in-ear BT and they weigh next to nothing. Charging cable is horrible (too short, too stiff and its flat) but its standard micro USB so its easily substituted with something better.

    Most awesome workout-headset!!!

    • Written by from Frederiksberg

This headset is PERFECT for workouts!!! Sweat-resistance, good sound and the bluetooth just works perfectly. I can easily walk around the gym and I have to get really far away before they disconnect.

The only reason why I'm giving these 4 and not 5 stars, is that they promise 8 hours of battery. Well... I can use them for maybe 2 workouts (1-2 hours long), and they will be dead. But if you can charge them after each workout, then whatever.

    Good product

    • Written by from South San Francisco

I got my set for Xmas last year so it's been six months. I asked for use them for workout. I had no technical issues with them whatsoever. The sound quality is great. And there is something else. I accidentally left them in my shorts and they got washed. Right after that happened the headphones acted erratically. They would turn on and off, dial last number etc due to the switch/microphone piece being wet. I unpaired them and left them to dry for few days. After that I charged them, paired with the phone and they work like nothing happened. I had same thing happened to iPhone headphones and after taking a bath they were garbage.
Someone wrote in their review that sounds disappears for few seconds now and then. That interruption is caused by receiving emails or text messages. It does not bother me so much since I don't text or email a lot.
I give 4 stars for lack of battery indicator software (only iPhone, and I own Android) and lack of fast forward/rewind feature. Overall is a good quality product but a bit overpriced.

    Best Wireless Headphones!

    • Written by from Flemington

Being 100% honest I've never had a better experience with headphones. These are high quality, modern looking, & preform perfectly. The headphones don't have an issue staying in your ear like many others (even without using the included fit gel things). Honestly I find them even more comfortable without the fit gel inserts. The bass is definitely there & the sound is wonderful for in-ear buds. Most important, the connectivity is amazing I forgot my iPhone on one side of my gym walked 50-60 ft to the water fountain and still didn't realize I left my phone because of how good the connection was. I highly recommend these to anyone but especially people who work out regularly like myself. We'll worth the price, you'll be happy you purchased them.

    Best for the money

    • Written by from Port Huron

I've owned these earbuds for well over a year now and I can tell you that they are the best of any I have tried! I work in an automotive assembly plant and it is a relatively harsh environment. I typically work 8hr shifts sometimes 12hrs. I have yet to have the battery die on me or have any problems with the controls. I don't usually have music on the entire time so I can't confirm battery life of constant audio playback. The earbuds are fairly large in comparison to standard wired earbuds that will feel odd at first. The beauty of the wireless more than outweighs the extra size. The bluetooth connection is solid and has a HUGE range. I can walk almost 50' sometimes more before they disconnect. The sound quality is AMAZING for wireless earbuds! There is considerable bass (more than any other inear bud I have tried.) As with any inear earbud though the amount of bass depends on how well they seal in your ear. These earbuds are very comfortable but do have what I would call a "break-in" period while your ears get used to the shape and feel. When I first got them, my ears would be physically slightly sore after 6-8hrs. Now though, I can do 12hrs no problem!

    Now for the cons
The cable that runs from one earbud to the other is a flat ribbon cable. I would prefer a simple round cable.
They are expensive!! Sound quality more than makes up for it though and they are rugged enough for everyday use.
Perhaps my BIGGEST issue with these earbuds are the soft silicon tips. There are no ridges where they slide onto the earbud to grip them. So when you pull the earbuds out, the silicon tip often (almost ALWAYS) stay in my ear!!! If you have a good seal, sometimes it is difficult to remove the tip. This is the sole reason why I wrote this review and the sole reason why they only got a 4 star rating! If they fixed this one MAJOR annoyance, they would have a customer for life!

    Great Headphones

    • Written by from CEDAR PARK

I had originally gone into the Apple Retail Store to purchase another set of Bose in ear headphones. Then I saw some wireless headphone. The employee said that they were great so I thought I would give them a try, I am glad that I did because they are great. They pair with my iPhone very easily and they are comfortable. Mose head phone fall out of my ear especially the EarPods. These headphone like the Bose head phone have the ear piece that keeps the headphone in your ear securely. If you haven't tried wireless headphone and you are very active and like the not accidentally grab your cord in the middle of a run then try these out.

What is dead may never die ...

    • Written by from Winnipeg

... but rises again, harder and stronger. 300 words isn't a lot of space, so, here's a great story in point form:
    1) I'm a careless dolt
    2) I put these headphones in the washing machine for 35 minutes
    3) They came out stone dead, although at first the red and green lights flashed alternately as if to say "help me" but it was too late
    4) I wept, for I had owned them for only six weeks, and they are expensive
    5) I tried to gingerly dry them out and it didn't work
    6) How many words am I at? I'm not counting this up by hand, man. Could we get a little JavaScript counter for the submission form?
    7) Sorry. Anyway, it's a day later, and I plugged them in to charge them, and the red light came on.
    8) Now they're working perfectly. Oh my god. I felt so gutted, and now it's like my execution has been stopped at the last possible second.

Sorry for the Game of Thrones reference, because I understand that not literally everyone watches or likes that show, but these are the headphones the Ironborn would wear into battle. Also, they sound really good. That's important, too.

Gripes: it's really designed for music, not podcasts. That's a fair assumption for a high-quality audio device, but it's irritating to have to dig out the iPad to go back 15 seconds. The controls on the headphones can only do whole-track skipping. And although they sound really good, they're not quite as good as the Sennheisers they're replacing, but that set was wired. That's it; that's all I got for gripes. Everything else is really great.

    Super Sound, Good Fit

    • Written by from CALGARY

I bought these in May 2013 and have worn them on various activities and weather types: running, cycling, cross-training, snowboarding, hiking, casual listening, library, sporting events. I have used them in +35C and -25C weather, snow, rain, and more. I've even put them through a laundry cycle when I forgot to check my pockets (oops). They are still in great working shape!

PROS = Sound quality, bass reproduction, noise cancelling are excellent. These are some of the best headsets i've ever had! Bluetooth setup is easy and that they remember eight (8) devices is great. Selection of cushions and tips means most everyone should find a comfy fit with good sound. Small size is incredible given the battery life and sound quality.

CONS = Switching from under to over the ear modes takes a bit of fiddling and switching. My Shure (wired) headset is designed to flip from over to under without much fuss, but they are not bluetooth.
Another minor thing is there is no command to "Fast Forward/Rewind" (skip ahead or backward) within a song using the remote. You can skip forward and back between tracks but not search within. Not a game-breaker but would be nice to have sometimes.

    Overall, a great wireless headset!
