    Best bluetooth headphones period.

    • Written by from San Francisco

The BlueBuds X contain the clarity and fidelity that will surprise any audiophile. Eventhough it's through bluetooth, it blocks out the white noise and delivers quality and clear sound. Because of it's secure fit, you can jam the earbuds in for great and balanced bass. My ears are smaller than average and with the right rubber bud, it stays very comfortable in the ear. It chafes a bit when i run, so i would recommend putting some vasoline along the rubber areas so it doesn't cause more chafing. The Battery life is super. It'll last longer than a plane ride from LA to NY. So you got an earphone that's great for normal listening, working out, multitasking, and traveling. All wireless.

Probably was too jazzed up about the music quality I haven't fully tested the mic on it. I've made a few phone calls with it, but probably I haven't used that part enough to give my final verdict.

About me: I own UE Triple Driver Headphones which are my favorite for normal listening and have used Sony MDR-7506 for recordings. I'm particular in my music and my MP3s have to at least 256kbps. If it would make sense that I have the storage space, I would only listen to FLAC files.

I would like this to be at least 20 dollars cheaper, but still I don't regret any penny and compared to everything else I spend money on, this one actually makes sense. Actually........I would probably have paid more for these.

Ordered these for my wife and just received in the mail today. Once you find the right fit with the ear cushion attachments these puppies will not come off with any jumping/running/exercise and feel really comfortable. The sound is really quite amazing for bluetooth headphones with deep, rich bass. Bluetooth range is not a problem. With a lifetime warranty against damage due to sweat, I think the bluebuds are on top of the heap in its category! Tried calling a friend using the headset and call clarity was great. Nice touch with the battery indicator showing on the screen of our iPhones too.
The only other test to determine now is how reliable the build is... Time will tell.

    Very Comfortable

    • Written by from Katy

I bought these around the first week of December '12. They sound great, the best bluetooth in ear headphones I've tried so far and I've tried a lot of them. I spend a lot of time in the gym so having no wires is important to me. An even BIGGER plus is the unit can be worn over or under ear. Over-ear is perfect for the gym while lifting weights especially for squats or any behind the neck exercise(s). I have a slight problem with them staying in my ear and I've tried all the tips that come with the unit. I always have trouble with ear buds staying in without having to give them a push or two here and there. I've noticed they are a little finicky while in the parking lot at several gyms the connection tends to go in and out but while inside the gym and else where I have not had any connection issues. I've only paired them with my iPod nano(new generation). They can be paired up to 8 devices which is another nice feature. They are very comfortable, I can't say that enough. I wish the case was a soft case but that is a minor detail.

Great sound not secure for running

    • Written by from Hampstead

after weeks of research i found these buds, I have medium sized ear, like the average guy. I Did a jog with these, first the sound is very good, bass is amazing!! BUT, the sound is as good as the fit is, meaning if the buds slip a bit and not 100% secure the sound quality goes 50% down. I tired all fits possible, took me good 2 hours to try and fit all sizes with a light jog. First, it is secure for good 2 minutes than the buds always slip out, it is even worse when you start sweating the buds just cant stay in properly in your ear, when sweating even when not jogging just working out at the gym, the buds are slipping out (not falling of course), as i mentioned than you lose the quality of sound by 50%. Im going to return them unfortunately.

    Nice Headphones, Bluetooth Problems

    • Written by from Virginia Beach

Bought these to use mainly with my iPad. I stream a lot of TV shows and movies. Unfortunately using WiFi (streaming) and Bluetooth (headphones) at the same time can be problematic. From what I've read the Bluetooth signal uses the 2.4gHz band, so unless you are able to select the 5gHz band for your WiFi signal, there will be conflicts. My WiFi and Bluetooth signals constantly fought each other causing poor streaming and frequent popping in the headphones. Overall though the headphones looked and fit nice. They sounded good too when listening to music with my iPhone. So depending on you plans these are great for stored music files but not so good for streaming.

Charger Jack Breaks and Not Totally Sweat Resistant

    • Written by from Toyota

At the start I loved these earphones, but after a while they stopped recharging. The charger jack inside the earphones breaks easily. I had to return the earphones and got a new pair on the mail. When I started using the new pair, I went for a run and sweat got inside the remote control. Somehow, without me realising the earphones activated Siri and made 9 phone calls to a friend of mine. I had to do a bit of explaining. So, yeah. I would never recommend anyone to get a pair of these. I would return mine if I could.

1st impression WOW, 2nd impression EPIC FAIL

    • Written by from White Plains

I thought these earbuds would be perfect for the gym. I experimenting with various size configurations to find the perfect fit. The largest tip stays in but is not comfortable and all 3 sized cushions caused even more pain. I preferred them without the cushions but being a heavy sweater they wouldn't stay in my ear without them. This is a major deal breaker for me. The final straw was that they would time out. It didn't matter if I was listening to music on my iphone or streaming from Pandora with 5 bars or over wifi. every other song for some reason or another would drop for just a second for no reason. If you don't mind the sound going out and you don't have sensitive ears these are perfect for you. If comfort and consistency are as important as sound quality look elsewhere.

    Sound cuts out

    • Written by from Simi Valley

If you hold the phone in a certain way the sound will cut out. At the gym the sound cuts out while the phone is in my pocket. Returned the first pair because of this and now i will be returning the second.

I have been using these headphones from Jaybird for the past 5 weeks and I have to say that they are the best Bluetooth Headphones for people who work out and indeed sweat! They include several options for your to find your "perfect fit" in the box, and I recommend that you take your time doing so. I played around with these for about 3 work outs till I found the set up that suited me best.

That being said, the sound is incredible as compared to other bluetooth headsets! Jaybird has done a fantastic job on this version's bluetooth. The connection to your device is very strong and hardly misses!

While you can take a phone call on them, that is really not what they are suited for. They are meant to help you get away and "Zone Out" so you can enjoy your work out!

They are a little expensive at $169, but well worth it!

    Fall out of your ears

    • Written by from Vancouver

I've owned the Jaybird freedoms for 2 years. Upgraded to these when my Freedoms stopped working. Ended up returning these news ones bc they just don't stay in your ears like the old ones used to!

Now looking to buy the old ones again!

    Excellent bluetooth headphones!

    • Written by from Honolulu

These are perfect when you're on the out and about. The sound is great, full with good clarity. The bass doesn't give you the boom (which I love), but it gives a great deep powerful thud which is just fine. The unit is light, doesn't hinder any movement, and can be worn either under or over ear. Connectivity is excellent. The "wings" hold the buds in your ear without any discomfort.

I used to have the LG Tone+ 730s "bridle" type headphones, great sound, vibrate alert, able to pair 2 devices e.g. iPhone and iPad at once and 10 hours of music listening. Only problem is that it had terrible connectivity issues. The sound was choppy even when I had my iPhone right up at my chest!

I just got the BlueBuds this morning so haven't tested it for the full day. I hope the 8 hours of advertised battery use will last me the whole day. I won't be able to answer calls unless the ringer is on or the bud is in my ear, but I hear the call perfectly fine as well as the person on the receiving end.

    Great item

    • Written by from Rochester Hills

Although the hefty price tag, these headphones are amazing. They are very comfortable and stay well in my ears. The jaybird headphones paired with my iPhone 5 and show the power left on its display, convieniant. The woman's voice over the headphones when turned on/pending to be paired is very soothing. I have yet to have any issue with them other than the still shock of the price. Will update if feelings change. :)

thank you for engineering the headphones in such a way that they actually stay in my ear.
after using thiese headphones, at work.. then on the train.. walking home.. at the gym.. I promptly purchased a pair for my wife as well.
my only recommendation is that I would engineer them in such a wat that they mirror the BOSE IE2 headphones as they are more comfortable and seem to have a more secure fit.

nonee the less this is an outstanding product.

    Exceeded High Expectations

    • Written by from Duxbury

I agree, I saw the price and walked away - they decided due to the 2 week return policy to give them a try. They won't be going back as I love them. This is my first set of BlueTooth buds and the sound is as good as my other buds (Bose IE2 and beloved Klipsch S4i's.) The ability to walk around with lightweight buds and no wires is liberating. Rage is good. Battery life is excellent at 7-8 hours. Recharge time is around 5 hours. Occasionally my iPad stops sending for a second or two, but it is a minor inconvenience compared to the huge benefits with these buds. I have small ears and worried about fit, but the largest tips fit tight for me for some reason. I also bought some after market tips on amazon which are even better.

Give them a try from apple and see if you like them. My guess is you will love them.

They don't make headphones like they used to

    • Written by from DICKSON

For some bizarre reason I was sick of my wired Sennhieser PMX 680 headphones because the band around the head makes it difficult when on the plane (or laying down), plus cables are annoying. Going from those to these headphones - what a disappointment. Unless you want to spend the whole time holding these in position, the sound is barely better than the stock Apple headphones. Connectivity drops out repeatedly when using wifi (a pain if you listen to lots of audiobooks). I give these two stars because they are very light and, apart from the constant feeling they are about to fall out, they are very comfortable, also because there is barely any cable they are so much easier to transport. For now I'm sticking to my wired Sennheisers. I simply cannot sacrifice the sound for comfort.

    Fitting is very important.

    • Written by from Pasadena

This thing sounds terrible if not fitted right. Takes a bit of fudging to get it right.
It's otherwise a pretty sweet headphone, a bit on the expensive side though.

Great set of Bluetooth headphone for the gym or walking

    • Written by from Minneapolis

These have an awesome sound and were well worth the premium price for good sound. I use them with my 7th Gen Nano. I find that setting the equalizer to Bass Boost sounds best with them. For ear buds they stay in the ear pretty darned well unless you are an excessive sweater...(which I am) I find I still have to push them in once in a while but the over the ear option is the way to go. I may need to play with the combination of ear tip sizes and secure fit ear cushions. I tried to save some $ and got the Motorola S10's at Best Buy, but returned them and got these at the Apple Store. (The s10's sounded like very bad) Pretty happy with my purchase so far.

    Super Sound, Good Fit

    • Written by from CALGARY

I bought these in May 2013 and have worn them on various activities and weather types: running, cycling, cross-training, snowboarding, hiking, casual listening, library, sporting events. I have used them in +35C and -25C weather, snow, rain, and more. I've even put them through a laundry cycle when I forgot to check my pockets (oops). They are still in great working shape!

PROS = Sound quality, bass reproduction, noise cancelling are excellent. These are some of the best headsets i've ever had! Bluetooth setup is easy and that they remember eight (8) devices is great. Selection of cushions and tips means most everyone should find a comfy fit with good sound. Small size is incredible given the battery life and sound quality.

CONS = Switching from under to over the ear modes takes a bit of fiddling and switching. My Shure (wired) headset is designed to flip from over to under without much fuss, but they are not bluetooth.
Another minor thing is there is no command to "Fast Forward/Rewind" (skip ahead or backward) within a song using the remote. You can skip forward and back between tracks but not search within. Not a game-breaker but would be nice to have sometimes.

    Overall, a great wireless headset!
