    Amazing Product

    • Written by from Hong Kong

I just brought it and I'm typing this review using this keyboard. It is easy to use and it is basically plug and play. It maybe helpful if the keyboard can actually change layout automatically the when it connects boot camp. It is easy to type and it take no effort to type on as the keys are designed well. Good job Logitech.

Using it with my iPad as I type right now!

    • Written by from antioch

I originally wanted a keyboard for my computer because I got in a bad car accident and my computer was throw from the vehicle resulting in half of the buttons falling off. I went to best buy not expecting anything fancy but when I read what this laptop could do I bought it and tried it in the store just in case I needed to return it.

I set up both my laptop and iPad at the same time and it worked flawlessly! I was able to switch from one device to the other with just a click of a button! It does take about 2-3 seconds for it to to connect when switching, but who complains about that?!

The cool thing I noticed about this keyboard is that it is touch and hover activated! If you touch it or even hover your hands over it, it lights up! If you take your hands away after 5 seconds it goes into power saving mode.

It also matches the MacBook Air and Pros perfectly with its metally-silver and black design. It is also small and light and would fit into just about every bag or laptop case.

It is rechargeable and comes with a cord, but since I have taken it out of the box I haven't had to charge it yet and I have gotten at least two hours of use all together and it hasn't died on me. When I do plug it in however, it does still work to use and type on.

So far I am super glad that I bought this key board, If I have any issues I will be sure to log on and update my review. Hope this helps! Enjoy!

Keys feel great. USB-powered option was key. No access to battery?!

    • Written by from Toronto

Typing on this keyboard is every bit as nice as Apple's own. I also like that the pips on the F and J keys (for locating the home row) are a little bit more pronounced.

Being able to switch device-control from the keyboard is a really nice option (as anyone who has tried to manually switch devices can attest) but not critical for me.

The backlight option is pretty and, again, a nice option to have, but isn't something I would typically use. (Battery life is more important to me.)

The most significant reason I had for choosing this keyboard over Apple's was simply the USB-powered option. I hate having to juggle batteries and remembering to keep a charged set around so just having to plug in when needed is great. (I use my iPod charger to do this so as not to use up a USB data port on my computer.)

I'm a little dismayed that I can't replace its internal rechargeable battery when it wears out but hopefully it won't prove too difficult when the time arrives.

    Best Keyboard Available For Mac!

    • Written by from Deltona

This keyboard has done the unthinkable, it has replaced the official Apple Wireless Keyboard I have used ever since I got my iMac in 2009. Logitech has made a keyboard that has the build quality of an official Apple product. The keys have an amazing soft touch to them, and the back lighting is perfect. It looks like someone took the keyboard right off of a MacBook Pro and put it on your desk. This is the best keyboard available to use with a desktop, hands down.

    Excellent versatile keyboard!

    • Written by from Calgary

I received a Logitech K750 solar keyboard for my MacBook in 2012 for Xmas. It was a sturdy well made keyboard though rather wide. I have replaced that keyboard with this Logitech K811. The footprint is very small, taking up little desk space. The bonus is that is connects to my iPhone, iPad and my Macbook with the touch of a button. I can be typing a letter on my Macbook and receive a text message on my phone (in the 12south iPhone5 stand) and simply touch a key, respond to the text, touch another key and go right back to my letter.

It might look light and plastic in the photos but I assure you, it is not. The body is plastic but the keyboard template (surrounding the keys) is solid aluminium. It is also backlit which is a marvellous addition.

Dose not work with Mac mini

    • Written by from Saskatoon

Backlighting is great and being able to pair with 3 devices is also great but be aware that this will not pair with a Mac mini you will need an actual Apple bluetooth keyboard or USB keyboard when first setting up the mini and then install the logitech system pref to get this keyboard to work.

They should state on the box that it is not 100% compatible with the mini and will NOT work with a brand new fresh install.

    A great keyboard

    • Written by from Columbus

This is a great keyboard. High quality materials, good battery life, great typing experience. Once you have them set up it's a breeze to swap between bluetooth hosts. iOS devices switch almost instantaneously, OSX is a bit slower but it's not painful.

    Almost works perfect

    • Written by from Aiken

It is a great keyboard to type on, does easily switch between my iMac, iPhone, and iPad. I like the lighted keys and the battery, which charges from USB, lasts a LONG time.

The downside is that Logitech software, the preference manager is useless and adds little value. My biggest issue with this keyboard is that it will NOT invoke Target Display Mode for my iMac, which means I have to keep my other Apple keyboard around for when I need that. Logitech does not seem to be able to fix the problem. So, there may be other compatibility issues that I have not encountered yet.

As I said though, it is much smoother to type on then Apples keyboard, which I could never warm up to.

Easy to use keyboard, fast switching

    • Written by from Hoorn

The Logitech K811 really does switch easily. Size wise, the keyboard is roughly the same as any Apple Keyboard, getting used to it was a matter of minutes, not days. The keys give a nice, solid feedback, quite similar to the keyboards from Apple. Quick controls on the top for volume, play/pause and backlight settings make this keyboard easy to use. An added 'home button' key on the 5th function key also makes this easy to use on iDevices.

Switching from a MacBook Pro to iPhone 5, as I do daily, usually takes no more then a second and a half. A simple tap on the top left keys instantly switches the source. Switching often doesn't really seem to affect battery usage all that much. Using this keyboard for 8 hours at work and a couple of hours at home every day, alternating between MacBook and iPhone, I can go several days without charging.

Another feature of this keyboard is the backlight. It's somewhat similar to the MacBook Pro keyboard backlight. A sensor in the top near the Logitech logo senses light and when it gets dark, the backlight turns on. (unless you turn it off manually) During the day, you don't need backlight and during the evening, I usually turn it off, to save some power, but it's there when you need it, just like the MacBook Pro/Air keyboards. It's a nice bonus.

Combined with a Apple Magic Trackpad/Mouse, this is a great keyboard for Macs. By itself, this Logitech K811 will definitely speed up replying to those emails on your iDevice in the train or in a traffic jam. (The CMD + Shift + D shortcut works great on your iPhone for sending an email, just like it does on your Mac!)

    Tried different keyboards...

I have tried three different models of iPad keyboards. The first two broke right away. This one synchronized easily, and just worked. Awesome! I also love that I can use it with my AppleTV

    Best keyboard available.

    • Written by from Trenton

I am able to switch between my Ipad Mini, my Mac Pro 13 AND iphone 6. no longer do i have to stress over typing with my fingers. Works flawlessly on Yosemite and although I DO miss the number pad, truth is, if it had one it would not fit in my comp bag. I just got a wired #pad and use that instead :) All in all, it is well-worth the $$$ and I'd happily buy again if it breaks on me, which hasn't happened yet and I am a klutz. I've dropped it a bunch of times and spilled liquid on it but it's still going! :D

    WOW, love it...worth every penny,

    • Written by from North York

...Well, I think I found the best keyboard hands down. I ordered it from Apple and received it in less than 24hours...excellent service!
...easy to read black keys white lettering...nice contrast,
...Adjustable backlit keys, all you have to do is have your hands hover over the keypad and it lights up...Magic,
...pretty well the same size as Apples bluetooth keyboard,
...I also want to mention although this is made for Apple products I was able to easially connect my Asus solid state Windows 8.1 laptop using a bluetooth connection.
After weeks of looking I found a keyboard that will work seamlessly with my iPad,Mac,and iPod, and some Bluetooth Windows products as well.
I have purchased at least a dozen or more keyboards in the past, but this one is in a class of its own.
Logitech has hit it right out of the park with this product.

    Excellent product itself! However...

    • Written by from Berkeley

I am satisfied with this product overall.
everything is perfect. typing is soft, quality is good, and moving between different devices work greatly!

The only thing I don't like is key mapping problem with "fn" key.
I use betterTouchTool app to customize my key mapping.
for example, with apple mouse. "fn+two finger swipe to the left" => maximize current window at the left half of screen.
However, this keyboard doesn't recognize pushing "fn" key alone.
Unless you push "fn+ another key on the keyboard", the keyboard doesn't send a signal to computer.
I strongly believe that the "fn" locates best accessible position at the corner, so there are many people using the key as a shortcut with another action. if you are the one and going to use this keyboard, you should change the key mapping not using "fn" key.
In my case, I changed all key mapping replacing with "shift". it feels weird for me now since I got used to using 'fn'.
I asked this to Logitech, but they answered like as if they didn't care this matter.

Other than that.. this product is the best keyboard for the people who use multiple apple devices.

The keypad lacks solidity & doesn't feel of quality, but does have nice illumination & spacing

What I want to know is, when did it become a crime to include number pad on a keyboard?

People still use their desktops to check & manager their finances...don't they?

Why can't Logitech make two versions of the keypad, for those who still use it.

10 yrs has passed since Apple made a wireless keyboard with an attached number pad.

There is still a consumer market out there for people who still want a numeric keyboard!

    Overpriced garbage

    • Written by from Port Melbourne

I thought that by purchasing the most expensive keyboard at the apple online store would mean that the workmanship was also the greatest..... It isn't, it's plastic, cheaply made, no proper key pressure, feels like plastic on plastic coated in a cheap metal, I am very disappointed and wish I could go back and buy original apple accessories, the Logitech does offer other features...none of these you will ever use though...... Why is it so hard to make a keyboard functional, feel good to use and look good as well
