    Love the app, absolutely loathe the lack of consistency in customer service

    We bought this from our local Apple Store, and at first it was fun, but not essential. Over time, though we began to rely on it to keep us informed about conditions at home. Recently Netatmo has added additional hardware in the form of rain gauges (not useful in drought-beset California) and most recently a video module that seemed interesting.

    If I were writing this review a year ago it would have been four stars (minus a star for its cost v functionality). Our Netatmo weather stations, including our additional indoor unit which we labeled “upstairs” because that’s where we needed it, worked fine. Both the additional “upstairs” indoor unit and the outdoor unit work perfectly, allowing us to monitor our home and adjust to outdoor conditions.

    However, quite some time ago our main indoor unit became unable to show correct info for the room it is in (we had labeled it “downstairs” because that’s where it was). The downstairs unit showed an approximately 17 degree F higher temperature than our average 70 degree F downstairs temperature, for example.

    Our downstairs temperatures did fluctuate down overnight and, if I’m remembering correctly (it began to malfunction long ago), the temperature degrees difference was a different range, not as easy as just subtracting 17 degrees. We have a very inexpensive non-Netatmo indoor/outdoor non-wireless unit from Taylor, which, compared to all three Netatmo devices, when the main module was working, were almost identical measuring down to fractions of a degree in temperature-reading performance (when all placed together on the same shelf in our downstairs living room, for example).

    When the “downstairs” unit stopped working (at least the temperature part of its functionality) I sent a message to Netatmo, but did not hear back. I sent more emails, still no response. I tried in vain to find a phone number for Netatmo. Over time I left many messages at Netatmo's customer service online contact, but we received no reply, even though we did continue to get sales emails about new products.

    I’ve looked online to find reviews of Netatmo’s customers, and it seems we are not the only customers having the same problems with both the hardware and customer service. Some customers seem to have exactly the same 17 degree temperature difference in the main module.

    Finally, early this summer we did hear from Netatmo, and they "recalibrated" our main downstairs unit. Wished it could have happened long ago.

    But, about ten days later, the downstairs unit failed again. Again, more emails and no response. Finally a response and this time they say sorry, “unfortunately, we are not able to do more, and I'm sorry to tell your that your station is now out of warranty.”

    Yes, NOW it is out of warranty indeed, but the failure was long ago when it was in warranty and we are now out of warranty because Netatmo’s customer service seemed to NOT EXIST until early this summer, 2015. So, zero stars, if possible, on what could have been a better than useful four stars.

    Do not buy this product.

    The outdoor module working first 3 month and after that, every two new AAA battery only run the outdoor module around 1 - 2 weeks.
    In a year the outdoor module finished lots of AAA battery.
    After contact Netatmo, They just ask me to buy another outdoor module. no help there.
    I test the outdoor module, there is 5mA background current keep eating the battery.
    Do not buy this product. It has design problem.

    It was fine until it just died

    I bought it in italy and took it to china. everything worked fine for 3 months, then after a firmware update the company pushed, the outdoor stop working, contacted the support, and after 2 tests (they reply every 2 weeks), didn't even bother to make me send back the unit, instead told me to trash and buy a new one... just wow! Stay away from such companies with basically no support at all.

    Terrible Customer Support

    After appox. 1 year, the indoor unit is reporting temp 17 degrees F too warm. There is no helpful info on their website and two emails to 'customer support' have not been answered although I still do get emails from their sales dept. regarding new products.

    Would not recommend.

    I would rate it less that 1 star if I could - does not work at all

    So I paid a fairly serious $179 for this piece of garbage and it flat out doesn't do anything at all !!
    What a brick! I download the mobile app for it and plug in the "weather station" and the frigging thing attempts to go through "set up" only to respond "Sorry, we lost the connection to the Weather Station. This installation will restart."
    And that's it !! That is exactly what this product does - report an error condition and stop. Wow! THAT was a good use of $179.

    Doesn't work as expected

    I live in Southern Ontario, and this year the winter has been nasty, both with snowfall and temp (-20 average). The outdoor unit has a range of only 15" when the temp drops this cold. The indoor unit accurately reads the indoor air temp and noise level. However, the indoor air quality measured by Co2 didn't work. Netatmo customer support was amazing! They helped me each day, but we couldn't get it to work. They requested that i return the unit which i did.
    Given the short distance and limitations created by the outdoor weather in Canada, and that the indoor Co2 wouldn't read properly, I would not recommend this product.
    The app and interface are amazing.
    The customer support is also amazing.
