    Great concept, extremely poor execution.

    The product support for this device has been very bare and almost non existent. Don't get me wrong, Belkin is a stellar company and tends to lead the market with innovative new products. Belkin, however, falls short in execution of their devices.

    The major concept is down but many variables not tended to. The app for this product often disconnects or cannot find the Insight Switch or the Light Switch. This was also apparent and foreshadowed in the setup process that had to be redone a couple times to pair the product.

    The lights will randomly turn on and I'll come home to data logs listing 10 hours + use, which makes me think not having the Belkin products would actually be more efficient. I don't need metrics from the app to tell me using the wemo products doesn't make sense.

    Firmware updates are released here and there but ultimately haven't done much for the overall experience. The app definitely needs an overhaul, it's so archaic and many of its options are useless. Unreliability just screams out.

    I love this product when it works but I find myself more often frustrated with the switches randomly turning on and off intermittently, the app not connecting with the switches, have to restore to factory settings, the switches turning on when I'm away and remote access not working to turn the switches off. In the timeframe I've had this product it's disappointing that almost over a year, there has been no improvement. It's clear from the support page to how the app handled to actually reaching customer support, that there is an apparent theme of neglect to these products. I would recommend seeking a better executed product from a different brand. Even existing ratings for these products seem fake and produced.

    Latest Firmware Kills Remote Access

    The latest firmware update has killed remote access. Can no longer access devices if I am not connected to my home network. Stay away from the firmware update until the issues are worked out.
