Poorly made, will now test Belkin's customer service

Many other reviews accurately reflect how poorly this device grips in a 12 volt lighter outlet. The way my car's console is designed, however, I got around this by propping the thing up with a very tiny umbrella to support the weight of the dock and my phone.

The bigger problem is that after a little after five months of use, the charger stopped delivering power to my phone from the outlet. I verified that the outlet was still working by plugging something else in there. So the fault is somewhere in the wiring of the Belkin unit.

I will be making contact with Belkin to try to do a return because, when the thing is working, I like it quite a lot. Unlike mounting my phone to the windshield with a suction cup or to the AC vent with clips, this is nice and clean with no additional wires hanging around.

I received this as a gift when I got my new car. Because of the placement of my lighter, it could not support the weight of my 5S and would constantly fall over. A few weeks ago, it started breaking to the point where the clicker had fallen off. It finally broke yesterday and I won't be replacing it with this again.

    Total garbage

Don't waste your money. It sounds great... When it works. If you turn a corner, it flops over and disconnects... If you go over a bump, it disconnects.. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone

    Good idea but

It is a great idea, but it did not work with an otter box case, and who doesn't have a case on their phone?

The arm did not stay in position very well, I found it would continually drop over each bump.

    Sound quality was ok.

It does not like to stay in the 12v adapter, and the hand free was not the greatest. I would save your money and replace your factory stereo with a Bluetooth stereo and never look back.

The Problem I had when using this Product

When using this equipment everyone complained that they could not hear me very good, that I was fading in and out, so they were only catching bits and pieces of the conversation. Everyone was having me repeat myself constantly. I returned the product due to the issues.

    worth trying...

    Cons :

    * very short arm

    * not charging with most of the cases... have to remove the case each time...

    Pros :

the rest is good enough worth buying...

    May never regain my hearing

Okay the title may be a bit over the top. BUT, there was so much feedback noise coming through my speakers it rendered the music virtually unlistenable. Great concept, didn't work in my 2006 Chevy Uplander. Worked fine in my MINI.

    Great product...

Great alternative if your car's audio does not have the Bluetooth feature like mine.

    Expensive and cheap

I used this product one time and the bottom connection pin broke. For this much money I expected a little better quality. Item returned and still searching for a quality product!!

    Great alternative

Great alternative if you don't have integrated hands free system in you car. Very easy to use. The sound quality on both music and phone calls is great. The arm is a little short since my power source is vertical an lower than most (2011 VW Jetta). Works best without a case. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase.

    Not Bad!

I was impressed with the sound quality that came through my car stereo. The unit was quite stable in the adapter. However the iPhone itself wasn't super secure at the top. With a bit of jiggling it could come forward. The top clasp would be sufficient if the phone had no case, but I'm sure most do. Having said that it is not likely it would come out easily because it would be tilted back. Prior to this device (I am hunting because I upgraded to an iPhone5) I had a window mounted suction cup and I find that when using it for GPS purposes it's difficult to look down rather than across. In summary great for playing music through the car stereo, sits to low in my car for GPS purposes, good device to car attachment, less than great phone to device attachment.
