Not as cool as you think

    • Written by from Creston

First off, if driving in an endless circle with no real control excites you, then it is for you. If you want to spend more time retrieving the cars, cleaning the track and charging the cars; again, this is the product for you. Not worth the 340$ whatsoever. Add another $600 for two new iPods for controls and it was not a cheap toy. Even my five year old tires of playing after a few races even if it works properly. Which is almost never. At least the iPods work. Whats interesting is that you don't see a negative review on this product anywhere on the internet other than here at the apple store. Just because it made the keynote speech doesn't mean it is any good.
Give these cars the ability to drive around my house on a course I set up, then you might have something. As it is, the game and the four cars will be up for sale on ebay very soon. Or just gathering dust under the bed.

    Major disappointment

    • Written by

Game concept and the look are really cool cost is higher for the quality of play (or lack there of). I can not believe that folks on here are giving this game 5 stars. What destroys this from being a great game, is your cars constantly are running off the track. You are lucky if you can make it 2 laps with out them running out of bounds. All you hear from your phone is "please return car to the track".

I got Anki drive and worked great but then I updated my iPhone to iOS 9 and when you select the car the app crashes straight to home page! I can't wait for September now!

Excelent game but limited for use

    • Written by from Buenos Aires

Batteries last in short time, there is no switch to power off the cars, so every time you start to play must charge the vehicles. The cable provided in the starter kit has capability to charge only 3 vehicles, so if you buy the four as I did, you can't charge them all at the same time. I can't understand why a toy with such level of technology at and expensive cost ($340 id you collect the 4 vehicles) is made so incomplete.
With iPhone 5 you have to turn the passcode lock off, otherwise the car you are using disconnects during the race

    Control issues

    • Written by from Marysville

Every step was followed to the letter in initial setup and I also consider myself a very tech savoy individual in the troubleshooting aspect. I've seen a few reviews stating that their cars just keep spinning and leaving the track, this is exactly the problem we are having. We were so excited to receive and play this game and have essentially "parked" it because we can't figure out how to play for more than a minute without things going crazy. I will be sending back if I can not find a solution on a forum soon. Track clean, wheels clean, track flat, cars charged and everything still goes haywire?

    Not staying on track :-(

    • Written by from VICTORIA

I got the anki Drive and I was impress with the quality of the packaging and recharge station. I install everything. It was ok for 6-7 minutes, after that the cars wouldn't stay on the track. The next time I've try to use them, one of the car was not recognize by the app rending Anki Drive unusable. I used it once more, the cars were finally recognized, but they would not stay on track. Very very disappointed.

(It was also hard to manage to have the app on the ipad (it finally work, alot easier with the Iphone). In order to do it: Know that you won't find an app ANKI DRIVE for Ipad, but you can transfer your iphone app on the ipad and it works.)

But I had to return this product.

    Don't waste your money

Absolutely no fun at all. Apple must be paying people to write these reviews. Played it for about 20 minutes and did not enjoy it. You can barely control the cars pretty much set the speed and try to get behind the other players and press a button to "disable" them. DO NOT BUY THIS

    Not exciting or fun!

    • Written by from Hillsborough

First off, who is writing these reviews? And do they actually own a Anki Drive? We purchased one for our 13 year old son for Hanukkah. We were so excited to give it to him, but once the track was set up, and the cars charged... it was simply SO UNEXCITING! You download a program from your iphone to control the cars, but after a couple of minutes... boring... very boring. Also, it's a large tarp-like track so to keep it out all the time you need lots of space. I think, truly, the only one who had fun with this expensive toy was... our cat! She liked watching the cars spin around. Bottom line is this sleek toy is boring, expensive, large, and basically uninteresting! Such a major disappointment from Apple!

    Not very good.

    • Written by from Las Vegas

We played with this for less than 10 minutes and two cars stopped working just flashing colors plus way way too hard to figure out how to work this, should be simple right out of the box. Cant believe the reviews written cause it was a disaster for us.
