Lifeproof cases have never been nor will they ever be fully waterproof. I have had 3 cases since they first came out. Only because I worked at an outdoor retail store and got a pro deal on them. All of them have failed. The first one ruined my phone when I submerged it to take some underwater pics. I did the preliminary water test at home in the sink but once my phone was actually in the case it leaked. The next two I only got to protect my phone from dirt, sand and drops when I go fly fishing. They both eventually broke. The main rubber seals will dry out and crack which lets water in. The o ring around the headphone jack protector will def leak and we had numerous customers bring their phone's back in to the store with cracked screens after dropping it while it was in a Lifeproof case. And that's where the biggest problem lies! Lifeproof will do absolutely NOTHING for you if your phone is damaged while inside THEIR product! They claim this case will protect your phone from all the elements of nature and drops of up to 6 feet but they won't stand by their product if your phone is damaged. They've covered themselves, otherwise they'd be bankrupt from having to repair or replace too many iphones. Save your money!! Or if you do buy this case, DO NOT submerge it with your phone inside and keep a close eye on the integrity of the case. It's a piece of junk.

    Terrible Product

NEVER buying life proof again!! The screen protector makes it hard to press down on, and within a month the plastic protection ripped off the home key, making it not waterproof anymore. Then, my phone slid from my pocket and landed in between the door of my car. I gently shut the door (because I love my car, never slam the door!) and it didn't shut. So I opened it, thinking it was my seatbelt that was caught....nope, my phone. It BENT with the lifeproof case on! Apple doesn't cover physical damage so I had to shell out $$$ to get a refurbished phone...Otterbox all the way here on out!!!

    Warranty worth less than case

Mute switch rubber wore out. quickly and home button cover came off. Now it is no longer water proof. Would not recommend.

I do not recommend this product. I dropped my phone and the screen protector did not help at all!! My screen completely shattered. I'm not pleased. Also, with the screen protector, it is hard to press on the screen. DO NOT BUY THIS!

    Do not buy!!!

I strongly suggest not wasting over $60 on this terrible phone case. One reason is because of the screen protector. It may protect your screen well but I've had a hard time taking clear pictures and tapping my screen. Another thing that I hate about this case are how the case rejects the ability of plugins. What I by plugins is headphone/earbud jacks and the charger jack are hard to use. I have to use my teeth to unlock the charger cover which takes about 5 to 8 minutes and you can't even listen to many headphones/earbuds because, 1. You have to unlock a headphone/earbud jack by twisting off a small cap which takes about 4 to 6 minutes to do, 2. Most headphones/earbuds won't work with the jack while the case is on and/or break your headphones/earbuds, and 3. If you want to use headphones/earbuds you will either have to take off the case, which I tried to do with my teeth and haven't finished yet but I assume it would take about 15 to 20 minutes, or buy/use wireless Bluetooth headphones/earbuds. After reading this review I hope you've changed your mind on buying this case, because I sure do.

In my opinion this case is a total scam

Owned two and both began to fell apart in six months...rubber trim dries out as well as the control button protectors making them inoperative as well as compramising its waterproof design.
I contacted the company with no results as well as Verizon where I bought both of them.
Ill never buy a product from them again and will make a point of alerting all 2,000 members of my Mac Users Group of my experience.

    Terrible, Dont Waste Your Money

I bought two of these cases, one for my iPhone 6 and one for my daughter's iPhone 5. Within a couple of weeks the ring/silent switch covering had broken off mine which allowed water in. The charge point cover was the first point to break on my daughters phone, and this went within three weeks.
In general use, I found it very difficult to use the side of the screen, especially when using contacts and trying to pick a letter.
The only plus is that if you drop your phone before you have had to buy a new cover, you should still have a working phone.

I would give it 0 stars if I could. Not waterproof eat all my phone is destroyed. The worst product I've ever bought in my life. This phone case is a scam and I cannot believe the company has gotten this big off of disappointing customers.

Expensive for 4-6 months of usage.

Great case when it's new, but don't expect it to last longer than, at best, 6 months. I have had both the nuud and fre cases and both suffer from the same problem: the rubber on the edge deteriorates within 6 months and peels off and allows water in.
I work on the water so watertight integrity is very important.

2 years old and falling apart

I am a light to moderate user of my IPhone and decided to get the Lifeproof cover for my IPhone 5 because we kayak and hike a lot. After 2 years it is falling apart. The frame is deteriorating, the button covers have turned to mush and the screen is cloudy. Big disappointment Lifeproof gave me a life lesson...more $$$ does not equal quality.

WASTE OF MONEY. My phone fell popped out of the case and then proceeded to have the whole screen shattered. When I called they told me "Oh boy , I hope nobody did this on purpose and didn't tell you that we DON'T cover the phone if it breaks". Then what the heck is the point of spending all this money on the case. LIFE PROOF IS TERRIBLE and A WASTE OF MONEY

Was very excited on finally upgrading my phone to a IPHONE 6 plus a month ago. Wanted to protect it so I bought the very expensive "life proof" case. Dropped my phone in the water for literally a minute and my phone was destroyed! I called the life proof to explain to them the situation and the only thing they could do was send me a new one! What am I going to do with the new case? Put it on my waterlogged phone! Do not I repeat do not buy there product!!

I couldn't call people on the phone with this case... making my phone useless.

Nobody could understand me when I was using my iPhone SE with the case on. Everyone told me I sounded like I was in a tunnel. I took the case off and everyone heard me clear as day. I tried multiple troubleshooting techniques online and none of them worked. Poorly designed $100 piece of equipment.

Life Proof Does Not Care for its Customers

For the first few months of having a lifeproof case I enjoyed it, however, I was recently hiking through the woods when I fell. My phone was in my pocket and instead of protecting my phone, the lifeproof case did nothing and both my phone, and the case bent in half. Now not only is my phone broken, but so is the case. The case that was supposed to be protecting my phone literally bent in half breaking the phone with it. While I don't want to be one to hate I the company, I feel that they should offer some warranty to insure that its customers don't get screwed over like happened to me.
