    Important safety tip.

This really is a great keyboard, but I do have to say there's one fatal flaw. Any other keyboard, if you spill something on it, at the very best you'll have sticky keys and at the worst it will stop working. With this keyboard, the aluminum face means that it is electrically conductive. And while as far as I know, the amperage is too low to be dangerous, having to replace an otherwise working keyboard because touching it gives you an unpleasant buzzing sensation isn't exactly fun. Definitely get a spill-proof cover for this one.

What happened to full sized wireless?

When I was at the Apple store today, I was puzzled by what I saw. A full sized wired keyboard. or a smaller wireless keyboard. I definitely do prefer the full sized keyboard since I do need the wireless option because my main computer is hooked up to a 65" screen in my room, not on a desk. I can't really work with a smaller keyboard, so I went with this. I really do need a wireless version of this fully extended keyboard, but otherwise this works fine and it great with all of its crisp clean strokes. It looks better than any other keyboard that I have used, and matches right up with my magic mouse. Glad it's not cheap plastic, full metal. Although it could have been a wireless full keyboard, I am still satisfied with this keyboard.

    Great! ...except for the spacebar

I really like this keyboard. Very simple to use and I like having the ten-key right there.

The only problem I have is the spacebar. It seems like it's really loose and is very NOISY. Noisy to the point that I almost don't want to use it when other people are around. I had returned the first one I bought thinking it was a glitch with that individual piece, but it appears to be a common theme for this keyboard.

Of course, anxiously waiting for a wireless version...

    Amazing but with flaws

Love the function keys, design quality and feel. I can really fly on this thing! But it doesn't work with pre-OS selections like rEFlt or bios menus, despite the latest firmware upgrades. It's annoying to bring out another keyboard every time I reboot.

The USB ports on the side are almost useless, they supply inefficient power to the connected devices, so they're only good for charging and thumb drives if you're lucky.

Alas, its worth outweighs its faults, so I must suggest this product.

Love it... but why not wireless?

I use this keyboard with my Windows laptop at work. (I have the wireless version for my MBP.) With a key mapping utility, it works wonderfully and is one of the best keyboards I've ever used. My coworkers appreciate its quietness--I'm a keybanger, so I can also say that this keyboard is durable.

My only complaint about the keyboard as designed is the weird delay needed to engage the Caps Lock.

I would have paid $100 for a wireless one of these. Maybe more. Why, oh why, must I shackled with a wire just to get a numeric keypad?

    Apple Keyboard

Fabulous BUT..... don't discard the keyboard that came with your iMac. If you get into booting from CD or DVD trouble you just might have to hook up the original keyboard. Some keys on this keyboard don't work with the white iMac. Was my experience and others. Once you get things fixed you might be able to go back to this more fab Apple Keyboard.

    Key Mistake

Everything is wonderful about this keyboard except they moved some of the system control keys for no apparent reason. The disk eject and speaker volume was perfectly placed on the top right hand side of the old numeric keyboard. And the reverse, pause and forward keys rested perfectly over the other navigational keys.

To double up function keys F7 thruF12 and disrupt the natural flow of so many applications that already use this space is stupid. I wonder which designer made this unfortunate choice. I wonder what consumer has F13 thru F19 programmed for anything.

    Why oh why not wireless?

Just purchased a new iMac and the lovely wireless keyboard that came with it does not have the usual attached keypad. Ok, I get it, maybe most folks don't use it. But to not even OFFER AN OPTION of this larger keyboard in wireless form? Seriously?

The wired keyboard is great, except that it is WIRED. Why am I forced to go backwards, technology wise, due to Apple's apparent belief that the keypad isn't necessary? IT IS NECESSARY. Please provide a wireless version of this keyboard. PLEASE???? (It would be 5 stars except...it's WIRED)

    Great Keyboard, but Lacking Durability

I really like this keyboard and enjoy using it more than other keyboards I've tried, but I got one drop of a drink under the space bar, and cleaning it with a tiny amount of rubbing alcohol damaged it to the point it is non-operational. I plan to buy another one, but it could be more durable to withstand such a tiny amount of moisture.

    Wireless keyboard

I love the design of the new apple wireless keyboard with 1 huge exception. No 10 built-in 10 key..

I do a LOT of data entry and a 10-key is essential: trying to use the numerical entry is difficult and frustrating.

The separate 10 key that is available is an extra piece of equipment to deal with

I look forward to a wireless keyboard that has the built-in 10 key.

    Great keyboard

The only way to make it better would be to make it wireless. Love the sleek feel. Matches my new iMac nicely.

Excellent Keyboard, but would like a wireless version!

I love typing on this keyboard and everything about it is great except the cord! I know there is an Apple keyboard that is wireless but it would be nice to see this design in a wireless version.

    Looks great

Like all mac products it looks great sitting on the desk. The keys work much better then they appear at first. Feels very heavy and worth all the cost. Single gripe I have with it is that the USB extension cable can only be used for this keyboard. There is a notch in the ends of the cable not allowing you to plug it into the keyboard side USB ports, then plug in a thumb drive, or other device. I'm not sure the reasoning behind the notching of the cable, so it gets a 4.

    love this keyboard

it is just about perfect...the only thing I would change is the design, it would be more ergonimic if it were entirely flat on the desk vs. the slight incline (though this incline allows you to have 2 usb ports and that is very helpful).

    USB is High Power!

I'm using this right now with a Macbook 13" (2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo) that I purchased in the summer of 08. For those worried about whether or not the USB can power anything, I am happy to report that I've thrown everything at it and they all work. I've used the USB ports to power and charge my ipod, run my external harddrive, flashdrive, wireless mouse, and SD card reader.

The reason why I rate this 4 stars are for various reasons. The ergonomics of it aren't exactly the greatest with my palm having to rest on the table and not some external padding that I'm used to with Logitech keyboards. Also, $50 for a keyboard seems pricey but this is Apple and to have the Fn buttons just work without having to hack or modify a PC keyboard does make up for it.

    A very nice Keyboard

Ever since they came out with the flat design a couple years ago, I have been in love with it. When I got my MacBook Pro, then bought accessories for it so I could use it as a desktop computer, I was very excited to get this keyboard. I like that it has the extension cable, because I don't always need the longer cable, depending on how I'm set up, and it's nice to take it off. I don't seem to have the same issue as other people regarding the iPod connections. I plug my iPod Touch in through the keyboard's USB slots all the time because I don't have much room on my actual computer. The only thing that keeps this from being a full 5 stars is the fact that there is no wireless version. I really wanted a bluetooth keyboard, but I had to have the number pad also. So the bluetooth version lost out to this one for that reason. If they ever come out with a full size bluetooth keyboard, I will upgrade to that.

    Great keyboard, but WHAT THE!?

This is a great keyboard. The key layout and spacing is fantastic and makes for very accurate typing. It's also nice and quiet to type with, which is important as I tend to press keys hard when I type, which can be very noisey on different keyboards.

.......but when it comes to the USB ports all I can say is 'WHAT THE!!!!'.

The two USB ports on either side of the keyboard are STILL lower power ports, and cannot even run a USB 2.0 memory stick!

Seriously Apple, nobody uses USB 1 memory sticks anymore, and you cannot even buy a wired version of the Magic Mouse so why on Earth would you include LOW power USB ports!?

If providing sufficient power to the USB ports is an issue, Apple should add support for an auxiliary USB cable from the Mac to the keyboard, or even add an AC power adapter, which would allow the ports to run at high power similar to USB ports that are now present on many monitors.

So this keyboard is great, but could be better with high power USB ports.

    My keyboard with numeric keypad

I have had this keyboard for almost 1 year and most of that time I have been very pleased with its performance. However, during the last 2 or 3 months a number of the keys have lost their smooth, quiet operation and are now what I call sticky. I have been trying to find an on-line fix for this condition with no success. It is difficult for me to get to the Apple Store near me because I am no longer driving. If there is an on-line fix I'd like to hear about it.

    technical difficulty

I love this keyboard, easy to type and much less finger fatigue. Unfortunately when I turn on my printer,,,, It doesn't work. Then when I turn off my printer, I have to unplug it and plug it back in before it will work, very annoying, wish there was some fix, haven't found one yet.
