    great keyboard. works with vista!

this keyboard is great. quiet and crisp to type on. i use it with windows vista and it works perfectly except for the keys made for apple computers such as the brightness settings and the volume controls. at first i thought i might have gotten a broken keyboard because the caps lock button didn't 'work' but what it turns out to be is that apple implemented a mistake-proof concept into the keyboard. you have to press the caps lock key for slightly longer before it is activated. so, according to apple: "The Caps Lock function has been modified to reduce accidental activation. The key must now be held down slightly longer in order to activate the Caps Lock function." not a big problem though....actually quite nice so that yOU DONT END UP WITH A SENTENCE LIKE THIS. yOU KNOW HOW ANNOYING THAT CAN BE.

Coming from previous generation Apple Keyboard.
Feel a bit odd at first but now I fell like this keyboard makes me type even faster.
    Worth every penny.

    I want it BLACK!!!

Why don't you plan to make a BLACK Apple Keyboard?

This is one of the most astounding keyboards on the planet, great feeling, amazing typing speed. But the white version becomes quickly dirty, a BLACK version would be a great improvement, a great look for sure!!!

Make a black keyboard, please!!! :-)

    Nice clean keyboard

I love this keyboard - best I've ever had.

This keyboard is great for those who have a macbook, since the design and feel are identical. Light weight, solid feel from the aluminum frame and easy-to-clean because of the lack of gaps between each key (I hated that about the previous mac keyboard). The placement of the USB ports is better as well (on the sides instead of the back).

As a bonus, with newer desktop macs, the keyboard actually carries high power and allows for you to plug in other peripherals, like ipods and cell phones. This only works on newer macs.

As for the F keys (function keys)... you CAN use them as you'd like by changing the options in the system preferences so you don't have to press the fn key. While you're there, change the fn key back to the help key.

This keyboard shines best with new mac computers, but is a nice upgrade for previous mac models as well if you make a few changes!

    Macbook + Numpad

This keyboard is really fast especially if you're used to the macbooks. The addition of the keypad was what made me buy this one as opposed to the wireless but the two USB ports more than makes up for it.
Don't let the price tag make you hesitate. You always get what you pay for which is one of the main reasons of getting a mac anyways. Great buy.

    Perfect, Compact, And Comfortable!

I bought this keyboard from Best Buy and its great! I don't know what everyone else is complaining about when it shakes or whatever. The keys are very comfortable that I'm not used to my windows keyboard anymore, so I plug it in even to a windows laptop. I think it was worth it. Also what is great is, that there are no gaps so crumbs can't get in the keyboard. One small thing I don't like, its that since its white, they keys sometimes get dirty, but i clean them with some alcohol wipes. Lastly its good to carry around and it pretty light, so it is good for travel, even though I don't travel much anywhere besides around my apartment.

Defiantly worth it, so go at and buy it! It also compatible with window, but not fully of course.

    I Love This Keyboard!

This is perhaps the best keyboard I have used yet. It is smooth, quiet and easy to type on.

I have not had a problem with the USB ports. It might say there is not enough power to link your iPod or other components, but I have been able to sync using the keyboard ports without a problem.

What I like most about this keyboard is just how easy it is on the fingers as well as how simple and sleek it is. It makes typing just that much more enjoyable.

    So much improved!

3 times faster than the previous transparent plastic keyboard, no more dust jamming. Also compare to my 12" Powerbook keyboard it is also improved by each individual key pad which, makes typing more accurate.

    Best keyboard I've ever owned

I've used hundreds, maybe thousands of keyboards over the last 20 years. This one is by far the best I have ever encountered.

It's reliable, attractive, sleek, low profile, and uses scissor-switch keys (like laptops).

I have hundreds of customers that use them, and I've never seen one fail (yet!).

    5 stars.

    A Great Look

This keyboard is quite solid and very stylish. I want to point out that it does work with a PC. I have not been able to use the music control buttons and some other mac functions but everything you need for the PC works fine. I'm not sure if it's the same on an apple but the 2 USB ports are not good for much. I get a "power exceeded" error if I try to sync my iphone using one. They may just be meant for a mouse though.

Also, the Apple Store ships super fast! I was however, surprised they packed this little keyboard in a big 12" x 24" box, but at least it's not damaged.

All and all, it saves space, looks fantastic, and does not feel cheap at all.

    Great keyboard!

I love this new keyboard! I would have purchased a wireless one, but the new wireless keyboard has no 10-key.

    Great Keyboard!! Five Stars.

This is by far the best keyboard i've ever owned. Between the affordability, the crisp, clean keystroke, the amazing look of it and the extra buttons, it makes for a fantastic experience. The real highlights of this keyboard (for me anyways,) are the comfort, it truly is extremely comfortable, and quite easy to use. As well as the extra keys, there's one for dashboard, there's one for exposé, and some for brightness and volume. And finally, there's the extra features. For instance, to make this character (é)all you ahve to do is press option + e. So simple. it's really quite intuitive, apple thinks ahead and makes the keyboard shortcuts ones that the users would think of automatically.

All of this leads to a great user experience, and whether you're on a mac or pc, BUY ONE TODAY.

    great keyboard

I was skeptical after reading all the complaints and considering that I have big hands, wide shoulders and have difficulty getting ergonomically situated. I went to the store and wasn't impressed, though it wasn't at a desk angle. I took the leap anyway and after a very brief period of adjustment, couldn't be happier. The keys are low and easier to use, with much less strain on my hands. It looks great and seems well made. Beats the old dirt collecting tray model by miles. Go ahead, take the leap. You're only regret will be depression when you have to use a "regular' keyboard at work. Form and function come together here, big time.

if you type, you gotta get this baby!!!

I've gone through two (2) of the old style iMac keyboards because the consarned things eventually jam up/get sticky.

I've tried lithium grease, graphite, teflon sprays; nothing keeps the key stems from eventually binding. And noisy!!!?

Havent had that problem with this one (yet, I probably should add, just in case). And the "short throw" of the keys is just pehenomenal.

I used to be able to type quicker than I can think. With this short-stroke keyboard, I can type before I even wake up.

Noise is about 1/5th of that of the other keyboard, and I just got brand new 20-channel hearing aids, so I can really tell--my high-frequency hearing is "back". Downside: Now there's an annoying "click" I can hear coming from the mouse.

The Steve giveth, and he taketh away (oh yeah--the dozens of OS 9 programs I've used for years and years and years? Gone, gone gone.

Wish it'd happened whilst I had money.

(sheesh--can't even use plain vanilla cusswords on this system. I do wish the system would flag the offending words, rather than giving a "some of the words -- should be "word(s)" 'cuz I onney had one -- can't be printed, or some such, and you have to hunt for it/them. The Mr. Bowdler on the staff should take a visit to Iraq, or any military base, for that matter.)

I am a touch typist, and I love this keyboard because once I got used to it, I can now type really really fast on it. The time it takes to press each key is much shorter, and you don't have to pick up your fingers so much when you're typing. My fingers kind of glide over it. I really like it.

That having been said, if you are NOT a touch typist, I imagine that the keyboard could be harder to use.

I'd like to change over to the wireless version of this keyboard, but it's not the same!! (ARRGH!) There's no number pad, for example. So I might just stick with this...

    Great Keyboard

After totally wearing out the clattering, clumsy, hard to type original keyboard that came with my iMac, this new keyboard is a godsend. It's easy to use, quiet and I don't have to beat the keys to death just to make them work. Thanks, Apple.
