Warning Not all keys function correctly

The Keyboard is OK but Not All Keys function correctly. The Home and End keys do not reference the individual typed line. Home and End keys are the same as Page up and Page down in a small pages document. This is a Real Bummer if you are at the the beginning of a line and need to go to the end of the line to add a new carriage return.
It is also Not a full travel keyboard.

    Works fine since '09

Came in Jan 09 with my 24" iMac. Both continue to work fine. I'm on OS 10.5.8. The numeric keypad is essential for me.
    1. Key height – top row shorter, bottom row slightly longer (Apple screwed this up on the new Magic Keyboard).
    2. Tilt angle, tactile feel, ease of cleaning (always turn the keyboard upside down).
CONs (makes keyboard awkward to use – PC influence):
    1. The registration bumps are on the wrong keys. Apple's original approach was better.
    2. Middle block is wasted. Move the cursor keys to the main keypad (like wireless keyboards) and lose the others.

    Great Key Action

We have had one of these for quite a while on our home computer, and it works fine except for one thing: the "r" key occasionally pops off the base and you have to snap it back on. (There have been some complaints here about quality control.) Unfortunately, I never bothered to take it back, even though it happened within the first week or two we owned the thing.

I just bought another for my work machine, and the quality control issues seem to have been solved. It's a handsome piece of equipment. I love the key action. And everything stays where it's supposed to. So much better than the old Apple white extended keyboard, which was stiffening up beyond my ability to clean it. I can fly on this baby!

I only wish it came wireless with Bluetooth.

    Such a good keyboard

I would love this keyboard even more if Apple made it wireless.

    Great keyboard but flawed.

The keyboard itself is brilliant- a great size and very nice to type on. However, the cable is too short and the USB ports on the back are NOT a real USB hub. You can only really use a low-power device like a mouse with it and usually only one at a time.

    Great Keyboard, but...

......I wish it was wireless, I use the number pad a lot and don't like being tethered. Maybe Mr. Jobs. will help us out with a wireless version of the full keypad real soon.

Wireless with Numeric would be better...

This is a great keyboard, it is beautiful and sleek-looking, but works really well also. The function keys are very useful, and since it is an Apple Keyboard I know I can expect the best from it. The USB ports on it are handy as well. However, I wish it was Wireless. The only thing that kept me from buying the Wireless Keyboard is that it doesn't have a Numeric Keyboard, which I use very often. But overall this is a great keyboard, it is thin and durable, and I love it. This is a good buy for anyone with a Mac, but if you don't need the Numeric Keypad I suggest buying without it to save the money. The Bluetooth Keyboard is the best way to go in my opinion if you don't need the Numeric Keypad and your Mac is Bluetooth-enabled.

Might be the best keyboard I've ever had

This just might be the best keyboard I've ever owned. Sleek and quiet. I keep forgetting there are two extra USB ports in it too. I just wish there was a wireless version of it.

If you don't need a wrist rest...

This is a great keyboard and the number pad is a necessity. The new Apple keyboards? No thank you. This keyboard is nicely laid out and has good action. The only flaw I can see is there is no way to put a wrist rest in front. This simply makes using the keyboard clumsy and awkward.

Great keyboard, I love it, no problems at all, Great feel and makes typing a joy. Only reason why i don't rate it 5 starts is because there isn't anyway if you have the small one, you can't use the numbers up top as the numbers on the right, like you can't compensate. That kind of stinks

Definitely What All Keyboards Will Be Like In The Future

I have a PowerMac G5 Dual and was using one of those cheapo external USB Bluetooth adaptors in combination with a Rocketfish keyboard that I acquired from a coworker. After a night of too much red wine, I walked past my G5 tower and my leg caught the BT dongle and snapped it clear in half, beyond repair. Desperately in need to have my computer back up and running, I swore I'd get a wired solution for now until I had the time to get the correct Apple built-in BT card (and then still keep the wired keyboard as backup in case the batteries died, etc.). What an excuse to buy the latest Apple keyboard, right? I went to the local Best Buy since it was closer than the Apple store and I was fortunate enough that they only had the large keyboard since I was torn between the large and small. I then justified it further by stating if I ever got the built-in BT adaptor, I would have the small-form factor Apple BT keyboard anyway.

Anyway, I LOVE the feel of this keyboard. I haven't had any of the "spacebar" issues that others have complained about. The keyboard feels very comfortable and natural to type on. I would never go back to the Rocketfish even though the Rocketfish technically has more features with a built-in cushioned wrist pad, etc. I think I just prefer Apple keyboards with Macs. I'm sick of having to guess which key will perform "command", "option", and "control" and always being wrong. The Windows key always bugs me too. The "wondering which key will eject the drive" bugs me. I think the simple design of the Apple keyboard wins out. From an aesthetic point of view, It totally compliments my 30-inch Cinemascreen and my Powermac tower too. And I have two extra USB ports too (even though they would not power my iPhone no matter what port I plugged them into). Ah well. Fix that issue and add some backlighting (it's a wired keyboard after all), and you have a five-star product instead of the current four stars I'm giving it.

    excellent keyboard

with the numeric keypad it becomes very cable, in addition to being beautiful. the keys are much easier to type on than the old tall-profile keyboards, and even easier than my fall 2009 macbook pro. the only problem is that it is too low to be kept on a bare desk - my hands seem to be in an awkward position. i remedied this by placing a mousepad underneath, and now it is perfect. :-D

    Waiting for the next step...

I have been using this keyboard now for 6 months and from the day I got it I loved it BUT I'd upgrade in a New York minute if I could just find a comparable illuminated keyboard.

I found this particular keyboard to be great. The slimness of the keys allows for easy movement across the board and the addition of the numberpad allows for easy mathematical calculations. My only complaint is that there isn't a wireless keyboard with a numberpad.

    Great keyboard.

I've been using this keyboard for just under 2 yrs. My typing skills are lousy. But the feel and design of this keyboard is nice. It has a small footprint, and the spacing between the keys makes typing on it easier. If Apple made this keyboard in a Bluetooth wireless version, I would own it tomorrow.
