    Second Day Use, Awesome Mouse..

I've used Logitech, Microsoft, Razer, & Apple Mice in the past, and I have to say this is the best one I've come across, especially for Mac OS users..

I'm a Web Designer, so I rely on pixel accuracy, and this mouse delivers in that area.. Not only that - it's much better then the Magic Mouse & it's certainly more ergonomic then the Magic Mouse..

Now I've only had the opportunity to use it for 2 days, and I suspect based on a lot of the comments is that eventually It will loose some functionality.. But because I haven't experienced any issues just yet I'm going to give it a 5 star..

I got this mouse for $35 Brand new sealed, so In my case I think it was worth it at that price..

If it does end up failing, there is 1 year warranty, so I'm guessing after replacing it you could potentially use it up to 1 1/2 years.. Which is not too bad IMO..

    Easy Scroll Ball fix. Really!

Yes, when it works it desearves five stars. But I don't know why Apple, after all these years, doesn't include this simple, effective solution to "clean" the malfunctioning Scroll Ball that eventually may get clogged with even invisible particles (skin cells?) in even the cleanest operating environments. Just get any can of "air," a compressed-gas duster that is typically used for camera lenses, etc., and attach the thin tube nozzle extension. Position the tip straight down onto the side of the Scroll Ball and gently depress it (the center click function) to open the small crack around the ball and usually just one gentle puff of air will dislodge the dirt from any of the tiny stuck wheels inside. Your wonderful Apple Mouse Scroll Ball will start working again. If Apple was smart, they would sell a small can of air as a recommended maintenance accessory for this terrifically-designed mouse.

    Works Perfectly, Great Mouse

I took two different electives at my middle school, with the same teacher and classroom. The class used iMac G5's with the Apple Mouse (formally Mighty Mouse). These computers and mice saw about 170 students everyday. Even being used by 170 different abusive middle school students, the mouse worked perfectly. The scroll ball is a great idea for scrolling all over the screen easily. I loved using it far better than any other mouse I've ever used.

    MIRACLE PAPER!!!

Wow! Thanks to whoever discovered the paper trick!! If you're having trouble with the roller ball, unplug the mouse, and roll it on a piece of paper in every direction for a minute or two. fuzz and particles came off on the paper. it works now!! <3

    I love this mouse!

I purchased my iMac in 2006 and this is the mouse it came with. I use it very often and still love it. I really love the multi directional scroll ball, and use the side squeezy buttons a lot more than I thought I would.

Have I found a few quirks? Sure. Sometimes the scroll ball stops tracking up (much better than losing down), but another reviewer gave a tip of rubbing the scroll ball on a clean piece of paper (with the mouse upside down)-- it works every time. The optics do not like the white laminate surface of my desk, nor anything shiny, but it works on most everything else, including my pant leg.

The click function is easy to work, and I haven't had any problems with over clicking. I really love this mouse and dislike using other ones.

    Awesome!

I LOVE this mouse! I'm writing this review because I've seen negative reviews that are clearly PEBMAC (Problem Exist Between MOUSE and Chair)!

The people who say the scroll ball gets dirty too fast must not wash their hands... or maybe they wash their hands with sand, either way, if your hands are clean the scroll ball will be too! Also, if it gets dusty (assuming your hands are clean but you live in a saw mill) you can simply use a a can of compressed air to clean it our (hint: spray air while you scroll for a few seconds).

And for the people who say it randomly clicks for no reason... are you fat? Do you have fat hands? Don't keep your hand resting on the device... duh. Some people have said "it's not ergonomic", look, I use my mouse a lot... A LOT, and its only tough on your hand if you sit all funny and leave your wrist in at a funny angle.

Stop hating on the mouse, probably the best I've used!

    Clean ball & scroll on

I've had my Mac & mouse for 2 yrs, luv em both. Started to have scrolling problems w/the ball but came up w/a solution to problem. I just used "Goof Off" solvent to clean the ball & was scrolling like new again! Put a couple drops solvent on a clean smooth cloth, turn mouse upside down, roll ball over solvent in circular motion let dry & viola,
back in action!! Too easy, yes, but effective! You can get it at any hardware store.

    best mouse ever

I think that this is the best mouse Apple has ever made. The magic mouse is so ergonomically wrong. If they find a way to combine the shape of the Mighty Mouse with the functions of a Magic Mouse they will have a big winner

    GREAT MOUSE

I've never had a problem with this mouse that a little turning it over and rolling the ball around couldn't fix. It's very comfortable for every day 8+ hour use, and serves it's purpose quite well. I couldn't go back to a standard mouse after using this one, but I did turn off the side buttons, as they were too easily pressed. If you're after a great mouse that won't give you wrist pain, look no further.

    Apple Mouse

In the regular Apple mouse, the ball seems to refuse to scroll down after a period of usage.
Solution: Dip a Q-tip in alcohol and work over the ball in all directions, let dry and plug 'er back in. Q-tip should not be dripping wet.
Other than the above problem, the mouse design and system is my favourite after 20 or so years of mouse relationships.

Better than the Magic Mouse. Better than the Magic Trackpad.

Am I the only person who really likes this mouse?

I understand that there are some trackball issues, but if you are a clean person and work in a clean office, then dirt and grime will not build up inside the trackball area, and if it does it can be cleaned with an alcohol prep pad easily.

Everything else about this mouse is amazing, especially the way it works with Exposé & Spaces. The "center mouse button, right-click button, and side squeeze buttons" are features not available on the Magic Trackpad. Those features make it more powerful. It is also much easier to control and more versatile than the Magic Trackpad in terms of navigating the Mac OS.

I own the Magic Trackpad, and it sits on the corner of my desk unused, unless I want to do mindless web browsing for fun.

The Apple Mouse is for serious work and productivity and won't let you down. It's a classic.

Like wired mouse as well or better than wireless Magic

I have a near new (12/'10) G5 with the wireless so called Magic Mouse. My trouble free 5 year old former G5 had the wired optical mouse. Other than having to occasionally clean the roller ball (not difficult, just dampen clean finger, or use lintless wet cloth - turn it belly up and roll the ball around a bit. Picks up skin oils over time) I much prefer it overall. Also - no batteries to change monthly or so. :-)

The new wireless is a PAIN due to excessive sensitivity in navigating the cursor, and it being nearly impossible to comfortably and reliably grip the side with out inadvertently touching some part of the full sized top sensing cover. Using Excel it's easy to jump several lines, rows or even windows and not even know it. It might be OK if there were a touch sensitivity adjustment - but there is none.

I'm about ready to buy the wired mouse again. Way easier to use most of the time, and has the side squeeze buttons missing on the newer wireless. Wish I had let them keep the wireless and me take my old mouse at trade in. I did keep my extended keyboard. Need number pad and nav keys as I do lost of Excel numbers work. Bummer they now charge extra for what was standard keyboard.

    Its amazing

I've had one of these for 6 years. it's in perfect condittion, i never clean it and it works amazing. people who say when it gets dirty it doesn't work. Mine is 6 years old and it's fine! treat your mouses better. The price is kinda outrageous though. just get one free with a computer, or just get a different mouse.

    Best Mouse

This is the best mouse that I have ever used. The scroll ball makes 360° scrolling a breeze, and the side buttons make using Spaces very easy.
