    Excellent Mouse

    • Written by from EAST ISLIP

Very nice mouse, The scroll wheel is the best feature. I don't know what everyone is complaining about, yes it gets dirty on the scroll wheel sometimes, but so did the ball that used to be on the bottom. What makes you think it wont get dirty? Cleaning it is easy once you know how, just turn it over, put some rubbing alcohol on a paper towel to get the ball wet, and the rub it vigorously on your jeans or something to clean. Other than that, it is great.

    Love it....!

Okay, so I have read a lot of bad reviews on this site and many others. Quite frankly, I don't understand what the problem is. I love this mouse. It is designed for Mac OS X and is a joy to use. I easily was able to get started. You literally just plug it in and voila! Also, I had no problem switching the primary and secondary functions to make it a left-handed mouse.
I guess the biggest complaint people have is with the scroller ball. Honestly, if you keep it clean by cleaning it once a month, you'll be more than A okay...

THis mouse is great. I love it! All these people who give it bad are idiots that don't even try to fix something when it's broken. When my scroll ball started sticking I just went online and found that all I needed to do was turn it upside down and roll it around! I just do that ant time I have a problem with it (which is very rare).

    Best mouse ever

Despite what most people say in the other reviews, I consider this mouse to be the best one I've worked with. I work in architecture and other fields of design. It is the most accurate and precise mouse you can find in the market now-a-days. People working with Design software might realize this just by using it a little bit. Just like everything, it takes a couple of days to get used to, but in the end it's worth it. You might come across with scrolling problems, but that is something completely fixable. It's all about keeping your mouse clean. It only took me 3 seconds to fix the scroll on my mouse

I purchased the Mighty Mouse over a year ago and thus far, have encountered zero problems. It functions the way it is supposed to and never sticks or gets sluggish. I prefer the tail rather than the wireless because there are fewer problems that can occur. I'm planning on buying a second one for my other computer. Stay away from wireless and you should be OK.

    Dirty Mighty Mouse

    • Written by from Fremont

I have had my mighty mouse for about 3 months and two days ago it started scrolling every way but up. Saw one of the posts that said to just 'push it down hard and roll in all directions to clean'
Well I did and after only 4 or 5 rolls it is working perfectly. No wipes just pressure on the ball while rolling worked great. Saved me a trip to the Apple store to get another one since I really love how this one works

    I LOVE this mouse!

    • Written by from Waltham

So I have had the Mighty Mouse for nearly 3 years w/o so much as a hiccup w/the scrolling. If it got "stuck", a little tap on the desk and it would be back to normal. The other day, it just wouldn't scroll down no matter what I did. It still scrolled up, left, and right. I asked for a new one (this is at work) and in the instruction manual it mentioned cleaning the scroll wheels by turning it upside down and moving the wheel vigorously w/a lint-free cloth. I thought I'd try it on the old one, and voila.. it's good as new again! Now I have two that work perfectly. I love that I can scroll in any direction and hate having to go to another mouse that only allows vertical scrolling. I highly recommend this to anyone who uses programs that require lots of scrolling - in any direction!

    still working

My whole family uses this mouse regularly and it still works fine after 18 months. I see no problem with this product and it has operated just like new for as long as i've used it.

Its simple design has no negative impact on it's performance and I like that you can customize the function of each button in System Preferences. It has been very reliable. Thanks Apple for another great product!

    Mighty Mouse, Mighty Fine.

    • Written by from Woodville

I have recently purchased the mighty mouse. I use it for design purposes and find its roller ball precise and much easier to work with than the traditional scroll wheel. I have read numerous reviews of it and had noted that other have had issues with the roller ball getting dirty. I would like to point out that other models also have the same issue, all that is necessary is a good cleaning. Not to mention the fact that there is a one year warranty, most people have had issues before this has expires so apple is replacing it for no charge... what's to complain about there?
Also, the comments regarding the issues with right-clicking and the squeeze feature. I find right-clicking very easy and haven't had any issues with it. As for the squeeze feature, I will admit that I have a hard time squeezing it right. But a small issue as I don't really use that feature too often.
    Overall a great product!

    Mighty mouse is mighty!

I love this mouse I have it work and at home and I wouldn't buy another mouse. I have had none of the problems the others have-maybe they have food on their fingers or spilled soft drinks on it - which no mouse would survive. So if you want to make an educated decision go to an apple store and see for yourself- the mouse rocks! It works so spectacular in design programs too- i have never had so much ease maneuvering around large files! Anyway it gets a 5 from me

Mighty mouse is really a great mouse!

    • Written by from Pretoria

I have had my iMac for about 11 months, and I also have the occasional lock up of the scroll wheel. I googled it and found out how to clean it, every once in a while, when it does lock up, I just run it on the roller upside down on a piece of paper. After about ten seconds of rolling it works perfectly well, just like the day I got it.

Also what I like about the mouse is its incredible sensivity without being glitchy and over-sensitive. Also, it scrolls not like conventional mouses, 1 or 3 line(s) at a time, but pixels at a time, which is great for me.

Also, do remember that other mouses also get dirty, so you have to clean it as well. I would clean my mouse a hundred times over for the scroll wheel, instead of buying another mouse.

    Incredible Mouse, 100% Cleanable

    • Written by from Doral

If you see any negative reviews from this mouse, ignore them. I had this mouse for 7 months now and the scrolling stopped, BUT with a damp cloth, I was able to make it as god as new again. It's also great because of it's 4 programable buttons. The design is also great, and it works with ANY surface, rough, smooth, or even glass. This is an awesome mouse.

    I like it . . .

    • Written by from Blanchester

I've had mine for 1 1/2 yrs and is still working. Today, however, it seemed that I could only get the roller ball to scroll up but not down -- go figure. I did the paper cleaning idea and now it's working fine.

I do think there should be a redesign to make it even better. Other than that, it's "a good thing."

    Roller Ball Solution

    • Written by

We are a couple of grease balls an we use a G5 w/ an Apple wired Mighty Mouse. Our scroll ball started to not scroll properly. We just let it go for a month or so. Got kind of messy so I read through the REVIEWS and found this one:

"May 22, 2008 ---- I have had this mouse for 3 years now and it still works great. The scroll ball just need to be occasionally cleaned which is easily done by turning the mouse upside down and rolling it on a piece of paper. Go to you tube if you want a video. People want to complain about the scroll ball not working but, mine works just as good as day one."

I turned the mouse over and rolled it around on a white pad and WOW it works. It seems like better than ever.

    Mighty Mouse remains mighty!

    • Written by from Rochester

Don't give up on the Mighty Mouse if you think the scroll ball is dead! Just get a damp cloth, turn the mouse over and rub the ball vigorously across the damp area of the cloth (these instructions are in the apple knowledge base). Viola! Your Mighty Mouse will roar once more!

I never really thought much about computer mice until I started using this one. Now I find it hard to use others, especially if there is no horizontal scroll. It is hard to believe how intuitive it is to use the scroll ball. Another design success for Apple - looks great and offers great functionality.

Probably the best mouse on the market

    • Written by from NORTH LAS VEGAS

Anyone switching from Windows to Mac knows how difficult the transition is going from a two-button mouse to a one button mouse. Since the introduction of the Mighty Mouse a few years ago, this has made the transition so much easier. Having a 'standard' 5-button mouse with a track ball makes working a breeze. I've been a Mac user for 8 years (although I did use a Mac in the late '80s during high school) and I love the short cuts that the Mighty Mouse provides. This mouse and the other desktop shortcuts (desktop corners) really allow you to customize your whole Mac experience. The only short fall is hitting the mouse correctly when trying for either the left or right button... a minor set back.

    Great Mouse... Bad Eating Habits

    • Written by from LISBON

For a year and a half, 8 to 18 hours a day, 6 to 7 days a week, my little mighty mouse has raced flawlessly in Final Cut Pro. No issues whatsoever with right-clicking, and the scroll-ball zooms along the timeline with total precision. I have never cleaned it, I'm not a neat freak, but I like to take care of my equipment- you pay alot for nice stuff, KEEP it nice. The scroll-ball issues mentioned by so many are obviously caused by GRIME. And so I say to all you greasy-fingered Mac Trashers: LAY OFF THE CHEESE CURLS!!!
