What the heck was I doing......

    • Written by from PORTLAND

I'd been using the regular usb mouse for two years since I first bought my computer and I'd always had trouble with the tracking ball. I cleaned and cleaned and it would work for a bit then go back to its old ways......not to mention the annoying cord that was always in the way.
This is an expensive mouse for sure - but its so awesome I'm so annoyed I used that other piece so long. This mouse is fits in my hand nicely, tracks without a hitch, clicks with authority, and has a good weight to it....you'll see what I mean. The different tracking features are great and set-up is a cinch. Its hard spending money like this on sometime like a mouse, but you'll be glad you did.

I finally went and replaced my wireless Mighty Mouse today since the ball stopped working in it. I decided to go with Magic Mouse and it is really worth the money. Love the swiping and other gestures. Really awesome mouse and really comfortable to use.

    Apple Magic Mouse

    • Written by from Stafford

I love this little device because; I don't have to worry about a cord getting in the way when using it or a place to plug it in. I can use it all the way across the room or use it when during a presentation. I like it because of the many functions of the mouse instead of the standard to button mouse How easy to set the functions to my pacific needs. I also like how much longer I can use it before I have to change the battery because of how little energy it uses.

    Best Mouse Ever

    • Written by from Independence

I love how smooth & precise the Magic Mouse is. Didn't want another track pad since my MBP already has it obviously. Gestures on it is unique but didn't expect less from Apple.

Price seems expensive until you compare it to junk Microsoft and other mice. Dread going to work and using the cheap piece of plastic Dell mouse that came with the, ugh, PC, that I have to use. It's that good.

This is the best mouse I've ever owned. I hated the mighty mouse, so I was skeptical at first. However, I've had it for a week and I love it! I have it paired with a 2011 Macbook Pro. It's expensive, but I'd recommend it.

Great Mouse! Ergonomics not a problem!

    • Written by from Greenwood

Before buying this mouse, I had read tons of online reviews talking about how bad it was and how it was ergonomically horrible. Right now I'm using it and I must say...I have large hands and it is amazing! The gestures are intuitive and the tracking is superb. Ergonomics are okay, but I have only been using this mouse for a few minutes so hours of use could be a problem.

I played minecraft with this mouse and I rate it 3/5 stars for casual gaming. The tracking and right clicking was fine, but the scrolling wasn't right for minecraft and I'm sure some mice are more comfortable for hours of gaming.

Surfing the web was a solid 5/5 stars.

General use was 5/5 stars. No problems.

    Amazing product!

Be ready to impress anyone who sees this mouse! It is absolutely incredible! While it can function like any other mouse (you can set it to left and right clicks, so don't let the one button fool you) it has so many cool features. This mouse is great to work with or just fun to play around with. It has a long range and battery life is extremely long (I only have to change my batteries every 3 months!).

    Why isn't this 5 stars!!??

    • Written by from Riverside

I read one negative review on here that made me wonder if all the other posts were just the typical cult followers praising yet another addition to Apple's pristine lineup. I just purchased my new 21.5" iMac yesterday and I must say.... THIS MOUSE IS AWESOME!!! It feels great in your hand, it's intuitive (as a mouse should be), and makes browsing and scrolling feel very organic. Apple always keeps me guessing as to what they will think of next. They've done it again, and this product definitely delivers!

Great Mouse and Improvement from its Ancestors!!

    • Written by from Boca Raton

Ok, so I read a lot of reviews today on the Magic Mouse and would like to post my own review to clear up some false allegations.

To the people saying that the mouse only works for clicking and the gestures do not work, you need to restart your computer, run systems update and then restart again when prompted in order to update the mouse settings. It takes literally 3 minutes to do.

Responsiveness is way better then the mighty mouse and if you are having some problems, go to system preferences and make it faster. I was used to the speed of the Logitech Laser Mouse so when I got my Magic Mouse I just made everything super fast so it would compare. It is great and works the same.

As far as gestures, I am sure more gestures will be added since there are no buttons just like they have updated things on the iPhone so be patient. Why do people try to kill a new innovation in its first 30 seconds. I mean, if you think there is something out there better then go be a Windows user cause that is what you sound like.

Lastly, for people saying their hands are too big, there is not need to smother the mouse. Just grab half of the mouse and then use finger for gestures. The whole mouse is a click surface so unless you need to right click, you do not need your whole hand on it.

Anyway, not trying to defend Apple or anything just telling it like it is. I think the mouse is great and if you are reading this to figure out if you should get it or not, I say get it. It is amazing specially the easy of scrolling and navigation.

Amazing product - don't listen to the negative reviews

    • Written by from bridgeton

I have been a Mac guy since 1994. I have used almost every iteration of the mouse. The previous Apple mouse with the scroll ball was a complete fail. I still use one at work and yearn for my Magic Mouse at home. The mouse IS very sensitive, but you can control that through the system preferences. Mine has NEVER lost connection. My battery has yet to be needing a change and it has been well over 4 months. This is by far thee best Apple mouse to date.

    This Mouse is Awesome!

    • Written by from Garland

This mouse is really really cool. This mouse really feels like a premium, best quality mouse I ever used. I currently own a Macbook Pro (2011) i5 Processor, and this goes along great with my Macbook Pro. It's really stylish, really easy to install and use, and also just a premium quality materials on the mouse. I recommend this mouse to everyone who owns any kind of mac. This mouse is really responsive since it's a bluetooth and laser technology. I really thought that since this is a bluetooth connection, that the signal and the connection would drop out, but it does not. It is really really good.

    Excellent Mouse

    • Written by from Iron Station

I have been using my mouse for several months and am very satisfied. The design fits well in my hand. I played around with various settings and have everything just right for me; clicking, tapping and scrolling work beautifully. It took a couple days to get used to it, but love it. Battery life has not been an issue at all. I purchased the Apple re-chargeable batteries so I don’t have to worry about buying lots of batteries. WHen I purchased an iMac for my wife she ditched the trackpad and started using the mouse and also loves. It's easy to switch the mouse between the 2 computers. For those thinking about getting one I recommend it. Take some time and play with the settings, then give yourself a few days to get used to it and tweek the settings.

    I will buy this mouse

    • Written by from JACKSONVILLE

Tested at the local Apple Store. The standard mouse features such as mouse movement and button click is smooth and natural. I found button click is better than my 2 button Microsoft wireless mouse. There is much greater area where both right and left button clicks operate. This provides more freedom of movement for your hand which should help in reducing fatigue. The click feel is exactly the same for left and right button click which is better than any other 2 or 3 button mouse I have tested. I found the scroll capability to be natural for page up and down. Left and right scroll I found my self, at first, lifting my hand off the mouse. Once I got used to the left right scroll I did not lift my hand and easily scrolled left and right with a flick of my index finger. Did I say how smooth and precise this mouse is? The days of cleaning track balls and rollers is now a thing of the past.
If I could ask for one more thing it would be rotation using a circular swipe with a finger.

Certainly the apple magic mouse is an improvement of the mighty mouse. Although I am a logitech mouse fanatic, here are the following reasons why it's worth considering.

    1. Multi-touch - Swipe. Click. Scroll. Zoom. The first multi-touch mouse in the world.

    2. Bluetooth - No receiver dongle to take your usb port.

    3. Laser Tracking - Accurate tracking to the details.

    4. Power saving - The laser tracking scanner will power down when the mouse is not in use. There is also a physical power switch.

    5. Smooth Slider - The slider feet glides smoothly on wood, leather, and cloth. The aluminium base lend the Magic mass, and the device is nicely weighted, with the right balance between inertia and smooth movement.

    6. Sleek Design - The smooth white glossy top is definitely an eye catcher.

    1. No turn-to- rotate gesture - Which is still possible using your index and middle finger.

    2. Not ergonomic - Too thin and narrow. You use your fingers and not your palm to push it.

    3. No power indicator - My logitech v470 indicator light turns red when it's time to replace your batteries.

VERDICT: There is nothing that my logitech v470 can't do (swipe is equivalent to my mouse wheel's side-to-side movement). But for portability (it's slim) and classy design, plus being a macbook user, I'd buy it.

    Outstanding technology and functionality

    • Written by from Fountain

I rate the Apple Magic Mouse as the number one piece of hardware I have purchased in the Apple family second to none. The simplicity of having full control of your production environment without having to search and maneuver across the peripheral of my iMac is amazing. I have never experienced a problem with connectivity and the wireless technology is superior to any other piece of equipment I have ever owned. I would be lost without the magic the Apple Magic Mouse puts in my fingertips. In my opinion, this is the very best piece of technology Apple has produced for me in the profession of web design that I use countless hours daily.

    Apple Magic Mouse

    • Written by from Gainesville

I was a bit skeptical about getting this mouse because of all of the reviews I have read here and on other sites. Sometimes I am brave enough to take the plunge especially because someone's experience or opinion might not reflect my own. After receiving this mouse it was a breeze to set up. The mouse took a bit to get used to but after some days of using it it became easier and easier. The gestures can be used and it makes this whole experience awesome. I have average size hands and I have no problems unlike some reviews I have read. The only thing I don't like about the mouse if I turn it off I have to reconnect it to the MacBook Pro every single time. Small prize to pay for such an amazing mouse. Apple does it again!
