This mouse is really easy to use and gives me so many features that i wish i had before. I was worried about the lack of scroll ball but it was still great. I can only complain about the "natural scrolling" but that can be disabled. I love how the shape is comfortable and feels like Im using a iphone as a mouse. never had connection problems in 2 years.

    Pretty good

    • Written by from California City

I just washed this in my washing machine on accident and it still works.... it really is magic....

And my battery life seems to be lasting pretty long, I'm not sure why people think it's a battery hog. I use mine regularly and haven't had to change the batteries on it. It's been over a year now.

the fact that you can make it have a 'right click' function is just awesome. It also works on pretty much any surface. Loving it.

    Lack of side buttons

    • Written by from Encino

I just got this mouse a few hours ago. It is very nice, but I kept my old mighty mouse for the side buttons that I squeeze to disappear all windows and see the desktop and the roller ball on top that I push to see dashboard. Then I remembered that I had already programmed the hot corners so that one does the same function as the side buttons and another brings me to dashboard. So for those of you hesitating to get this mouse because of losing those functions, hesitate no more. Just remember to go to desktop and screensaver in System Preferences and set two of the hot corners for those functions.

    This mouse is addictive

    • Written by

I am so addicted to this mouse. It quickly became an essential part of my computer. This mouse is best for those who use their computer to web surf as Apple really aims the software at that. But it is even useful when browsing around your computer (the two finger swipes work for back and forward through folders) or looking over word/excel (the ability to scroll 180 degrees is very useful here).

As for hand cramping, you just have to hold it right. With this mouse it is best to lightly hold it on the sides with your thumb and second to last finger and let your hand arch naturally from that (don't rest your palm on the mouse) and your hand will be naturally at a good position for it (and you won't notice not having a rest really).

Also, download Magic Prefs. This software fully explores the potential of the magic mouse which sadly the default prefs on OSX really don't give this mouse near enough credit. As well as the obvious gestures that the default prefs don't support but is obvious this mouse could support, the mouse also can sense where you click (it's not just if you click on the right or left side of the mouse which is what I thought). It can also sense up to four fingers clicking on it (so with Magic Prefs you can set it to have an action for clicking with one finger, two fingers, three fingers, or four). It can also sense taps and where the taps are as well as how many fingers are tapping. Magic Prefs takes full advantage of this. Those who are complaining of lack of Expose buttons? Not if you download this software (as well as taking advantage of spaces and zooming amongst various other actions you can set the gestures/taps/clicks to).

    Best Mouse Ever!

    • Written by from Fresno

This is without question the coolest Mouse ever made! Feels slick in your hand, ergonomically designed. Yes I said as many others...another mouse, why? Well once you use this you will understand why you need the feel of the iPhone in your hand while you work, because the touch sensitive mouse works similarly. Scrolling is like the iPhone where you scroll quickly and suddenly and screen glides by and slowly slows down, like scrolling on the iPhone. It can right click through a change in Setup. I use it on a MBP and it just works together. If you do a lot of 'mouse work' clicking and moving like I do with Final Cut it is a necessity. Connects to Mac in seconds via bluetooth. Hard to find in some stores now, ordered it on-line, came within about a week. Forget mighty mouse and those cheap PC mice, this is the one!

Poor rating reviews of this mouse almost never ever mention quality because its quality is superb and unmatched. Most reviewers complain concerning its shape. I have large to medium sized hands and I love this mouse. At first use it WILL be awkward but after a short time your hand will "have a memory" of the most comfortable position. For some this mouse does not work because all hands are not alike.

Love it out of the box

    • Written by from Ingersoll

Just bought a magic mouse after some hesitation because of some bad reviews. I have used the prior mouse with a small ball in it for 4 years with my iMac, replacing one every year (thankfully under warranty each time) because it eventually gets stuck. So far so good with the magic mouse. I don't find it hard to use at all. It is not jumpy in the programs I tried it on - Excel, Mail, Safari, etc. I noticed the only way to get widgets and multiple windows open now it the F3 and F4 keys, but that's not a big deal. We'll see how long the batteries last. It was a very easy unit to set up.

Looks like a work of art, and performs like nothing else. Great purchase. Might take some people a little time to master, but the gestures are awesome. Stays connected and has never given me any troubles.

    It Lives Up

I am amazed. I really enjoyed the mighty mouse; felt that it was very efficient, useful, simple and extremely practical, but the magic mouse takes all of those criteria to a whole new level. I know it's only a mouse, but something so efficient and just fun definitely makes working on or offline much less stressful.

    Sleek, Slick, and Wonderful!

    • Written by from Baltimore

I was worried about the number of negative reviews, but I had faith and took the plunge. I am writing this after having used the mouse for an entire work day and I have to say that I love it!

The multi-touch top is a great new addition. The scrolling is super smooth and feels great.

The mouse also looks amazing on the desk - the top is nice and shiny. a layer of clear plastic over white gives it a nice deep look

A little more configurability would be great, I hope to see it in the future.

no problems with the magic mouse

    • Written by from Varsity Lakes

I've been using the magic mouse for over a year now. No problems as yet. I have it configured as a 2 button (PC) right hand set up. But I use my left hand. I hold it in front of me between the keyboard (KB) and myself. It sits parallel with the KB. Push the mouse towards the KB and the curser goes to the left of screen, move it back to you and it goes to the right of screen. You can work out the rest. There is no stress on the wrist or hand at all. I don't think I've explored all of its capabilities though. It's comfortable to use. Just be carful with unwanted gestures, but this is not a problem really. I have a white laminated bench for the computer desk and it slides and works well on that surface. A good all round product. Looks and works great.

    noting else like it

    • Written by from Clarence Center

I was so surprised to see some folks giving this little fellow so few stars that I had to come to its defense. This is my very first review of any apple product any where, and i own several MacBooks, mac mini, iMac, iPhone, and waiting for iPad3. This mouse was love at first touch. I use it at least 6 to 8 hours a day at work, every day. I loved it so much that i purchased another one for home use with my mac mini. I recommend this mouse to everyone. Batteries last me for at least 2 months or so, and i dont bother turning it off at night, so i have no idea how is it that some say they changed batteries every week or so. Give it some time to figure out all it is capable of doing and you will love it.

Fairly Good But too Battery Consuming

    • Written by from Burnaby

Feels awesome, but like iTouch, it need something physical. I personally missed that annoying wheel. Now i really use it a lot in browsing. In addition, like all other wireless mouses, this one is really eating your batteries.
